Anyone around here likes Rush?
I got their newest Snakes & Arrows live album!
Haven't listened them thorough yet, might give them a try after seeing this thread.
What album do you recommend for the first?
I went to there concert at Red Rocks in Colorado, it was fucking AWESOME.
Try Spirit of Radio or their greatest hits album. It has a little of everything from them.
Rush is my most favorite band ever.
I worship Neil Peart.
Also, pick up the album Caress of Steel.
Rush is great. Not many bands out there have Objectivist song lyrics.

Start with Moving Pictures, and then Test for Echo.

What Rush noobs. I suggest getting Chronicles. I has 2 disks, and you can hear their change in music over time. It also has very good songs, from Bastille Day, to Time Stand Still. If you are getting ONE cd, i would have to suggest 2112, Roll the Bones, or A Farewell to Kings.
Rush is the greatest band to ever walk the Earth. Grace Under Pressure, Roll The Bones, and 2112 are my favorite albums.

Don't forget Moving Pictures.

As many as there need to be.

I was about to say something about that.
Rush is pretty awesome though.

My thread actually has content. This thread is an OP who just bought an album.
Love Rush, my parents both love them, too. They are legends in heavy metal and progressive rock, both of which I am extremely fond of.
Except, Geddy lost his voice. Sounds terrible, but can still tear it up on bass.
I have a lot of their albums and I saw them live twice.
Greatest band ever.
Listen to Hemispheres and their debut album. Along with Fly By Night.
I got to watch their R30 concert in HD a couple months back, it sounded better than the studio versions of the songs.
Yes! I saw them live in concert with Snakes and Arrows.

I "didn't just buy an album".
I've had it for 4 monthes now.
And i do think Geddy is losing his voice somewhat. But i like how he "holds" the lyrics a little. (Like he stalls to sing them.)
Personally, I like Red Barchetta, A Farewell to Kings, Fly By Night, Time Stand Still, 2112...
I can't finish the list. It doesn't end.

My thread has more content, plus an incredible picture of Geddy.

I wouldn't say more content.
I like Rush alright. They're very talented, not usually my style, but I see why people like them. I also agree with a lot of their more politics lyrics.
Have Permanent Waves and Moving Pictures.
Good band, I am just not a fan of the sound of the singers voice.

That's my biggest turn off. Which is odd since I like him on some tracks.

I think a VERY good political statement was The Trees.

You know Niel Peart never actually meant for The Trees to have a deep meaning. He saw a cartoon with Trees in them and then he asked himself "What if trees acted like people?" and that was his main inspiration for the song.
