Protesters have unfurled a giant orange and yellow banner that says "RESIST" from a 270-foot crane at a construction site just blocks from the White House.
Police say the group of seven protesters climbed the crane at a downtown Washington construction site Wednesday morning. After a few hours, a few of the protesters dangling from the horizontal arm of the crane opened the 70-foot by 35-foot banner.
Greenpeace spokesman Travis Nichols says the group is calling for resistance to President Donald Trump and his agenda. He says it's a continuation of protests that began with Trump's inauguration.
Entire article was three sentences. Think Trump will say this was fake news?
As long as its legally put up, though, from what I recall, they generally aren't about doing legal stuff, so this should be taken down if put up there illegally or without permission.
what a crazy fucking actual world we live in right now

it's not judging by the vocabulary of them "climbing" the crane.
If somebody told me this would happen eventually, I'd have told you you were off your meds.
Resist what? Democratically elected leaders? Wtf is this crap.
EDIT:
Yeah, my bad, I misunderstood the banner that it was in reference to Trump being elected at all VS his policies. I hope people never stop fighting for what they believe in, hopefully they rally more people into participating in the next election so we can be better represented. Forgive me for my asinine post. Just to clarify: I am not a Trump supporter. Sometimes it's hard to tell if a protest is for a person or a system.

If I had a nickel for every time I saw this implication in any thread regarding protestors...
Resist what? Democratically elected leaders? Wtf is this crap.
The majority of Americans didn't want Trump.
Nor do a majority support his racist and fascist rhetoric.
Resist what? Democratically elected leaders? Wtf is this crap.
SUPER FUN DEMOCRACY FACT: Donald Trump's least favorite number is 3 million!
Resist what? Democratically elected leaders? Wtf is this crap.
A very democratic election when the other guy wins by -3 million votes don't you think
Resist what? Democratically elected leaders? Wtf is this crap.
did you know that you have the ability to protest what you dont like
its almost like that's supposed to be a right or something
Resist what? Democratically elected leaders? Wtf is this crap.
One of the key tenets of democracy is being able to speak up against your leader when they do something shitty.
Resist what? Democratically elected leaders? Wtf is this crap.
Yes we should passively allow leaders to shit all over us and our civil rights because they were elected.
Fuck off.

Even that aside, it's entirely possible to resist against for example his destructiveness without (directly) threatening his position.
Considering the gag orders on government science, now's a good time for scientists to leak things for example. Protests too, of course.

And pretty much half the other country did.
And you don't even seem to know what the word Fascist even means.
Also Trump isn't racist. That label gets thrown around so easily nowadays.

you mean 46% right
fas·cism

an authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of government and social organization.

We will put America first, unless you're a woman wanting rights to her body, a scientist studying or proclaiming the legitimacy of global warming, or a journalist who doesn't report on me favorably, and probably some others which I'll detail soon.

And pretty half the other country did.
Half? Not really
Popular vote says less than half but the great minority rule of the EC says he did

Apparently, the one who doesn't know what fascism is is you, my friend.
Fascism is when a guy whines about votes, menacing to do shit if he doesn't get what he want, and wants complete power over everything, to the point he would even place people outside ballot places just to be sure he gets elected.
Greetings from the country who had the first fascist, and who had the first Trump before the USA.
Cheers.

Even easier given that Trump is gagging agencies that protect our environment.

And look where that other "half" got us.
Take a good, long look at SH and look where it got us.
People are well within their rights to protest Trump and the dozens of bad decisions he's made since Friday.
you mean 46% right
Much*
I can't take these protests seriously anymore, it's coming off as cringe worthy roleplay like these people think they're fighting an actual war, do these people honestly believe that Trump is going to cause nuclear holocaust and openly call for the mass slaughter of gays and blacks or something. Fucking stupid.
I think every thread on the front page of Sensational Headlines right now is a Trump related post.

When their rights are threatened, you're damn right they're fighting a war.

Well they can protest all they want, I still think a bunch of them are aimless idiots.
I was replying to someone who is being loose cannon on the labels.

And trying to impose a gag order on scientists, freezing federal hiring, continuing to whine about those millions of fake votes, destroy American healthcare, all of this isn't serious shit to be protested against?

The only loose cannon is your God Emperor.

sounds like you dont even know what people are protesting about. how sad. there's millions and millions of people involved in this, with protesting, and yet somehow you are ignorant.
I agree that hanging a banner that says resist is a bit Hollywood-esque melodramatic, but
the mass slaughter of gays and blacks or something
Probably not
cause nuclear holocaust
Possibly
People have good reason to be concerned/protesting.

The answer is sadly a sizable number of them actually think this.
