Hey y'all. I've got this MSPA called Flunk The Emperor. In addition to drawing it, I also make music for it. So here's the song I made for the upcoming first boss battle. It is also the first "real" song I've made from the ground up. I still don't think the way the piano rolls is a good way for a boss battle to start, it's too calm, and isn't played with enough force. Instead of having that bam bam bam, you should have it pounding it at quarter notes. That way, you can still have that melody (which I must say is really nice) while giving it a sense of danger, as if there is someone big and mean to fight. The subtle changes to the drumming in the start is nice, it gives it more life. Still, the main melody needs to be more driving. I think the break you do at 0:21 would work a lot better as an intro, it builds up pressure in a much better way than the current intro, plus it does come rather abrupt. The part starting at 0:33 doesn't quite give me the boss battle vibe, it reminds me more of a "victory!" type of scene. The melody coming back with new force gives off that vibe too. It's a nice song overall, the intro I think could've come after the break instead, making the break the intro. I don't think this song is particulary boss-battle, more of a song for the aftermath. Really nicely mastered, nothing that needs changing there I believe!
