• Democrat Enthusiasm Gap - Turnout Down Significantly Across Primary States
Hillary Clinton set out 10 months ago to inspire and energize the Democratic Party, hoping to bring together the rising American electorate of black, brown, young and female voters into a durable presidential coalition. But buried beneath Mrs. Clinton’s wide-ranging and commanding victories on Tuesday night were troubling signs of a party that has not yet rallied to her call. Democratic turnout has fallen drastically since 2008, the last time the party had a contested primary, with roughly three million fewer Democrats voting in the 15 states that have held caucuses or primaries through Tuesday, according to unofficial election results tallied through Wednesday afternoon. It declined in almost every state, dropping by roughly 50 percent in Texas and 40 percent in Tennessee. In Arkansas, Alabama and Georgia, the number of Democrats voting decreased by between a quarter and a third. The falloff in Democratic primary turnout — which often reveals whether a candidate is exciting voters and attracting them to the polls — reached deep into some of the core groups of voters Mrs. Clinton must not only win in November, but turn out in large numbers. It stands in sharp contrast to the flood of energized new voters showing up at the polls to vote for Donald J. Trump in the Republican contest.

Some Democrats now worry that Mrs. Clinton will have difficulty matching the surge in new black, Hispanic and young voters who came to the polls for President Obama in 2008 and 2012. “Barack Obama without that surge is John Kerry,” said Cornell Belcher, a Democratic pollster who worked on Mr. Obama’s re-election campaign, referring to the losing Democratic nominee in 2004. “Just turning out the traditional minority base is not a 51 percent pathway going into November.”

Mr. King and other Democrats said that Mr. Trump could present Democrats with the prospect of a greatly altered political and demographic map. His candidacy is helping spur higher turnout in each of the first four Republican contests, including Nevada, where Mr. Trump’s vote total by itself surpassed overall turnout in the 2012 election, setting a state record. On Super Tuesday, Republicans smashed turnout records in Massachusetts, a traditionally Democratic-leaning state, and saw huge turnouts in Virginia and Tennessee. And despite the seemingly inexorable demographic rise of Hispanic voters, the American electorate is still overwhelmingly white. Some analysts said they believed Mr. Trump could even exceed Mitt Romney’s 59 percent share of the white vote — winning over disaffected Republicans and even working-class Democratic men, and putting Democratic-leaning swing states like Michigan, and potentially Pennsylvania, in play. That could offset losses Republicans might suffer among Latino voters, forcing the Democratic nominee to overperform significantly among the smaller proportion of nonwhite voters.

But it is not clear whether any Democrat can replicate Mr. Obama’s relationship with the new voters in his two campaigns, particularly black voters. African-Americans turned out widely in 2008 to elect the country’s first black leader and mustered similar strength in 2012 to validate his presidency, angered by what they saw as contempt and disrespect from Republicans. “They came out and they voted for Obama in a record way,” Mr. Belcher said. “The importance then was that these were not Democratic voters — these were Obama voters.”
Source: New York Times :goodjob:
this is what happens when the establishment fully sponsors an unelectable candidate
Apparently If democrats know what good for them, they need to back Bernie Sanders. Too Bad it's not happening cause Hilary got the Money.
who knows, maybe if the DNC's crowned candidate didn't break the law every other day, they may have had more support
who knows, maybe if the DNC's crowned candidate didn't break the law every other day, they may have had more support
Okay this is my two cents. Republicans MAY force an indictment on her. Not many people want to vote in a candidate that might not get in the full first year without the candidate going to jail/or impeached. I'm sorry but this might actually happen because the GOP hate her fucking guts. Trump will not get elected, but Hilary might have to count on last minute Panic Votes to do it. That is if she isn't in trial or indicted first. If she is, The DNC WILL have to get Bernie Sanders.
If only these voters who aren't voting because they don't like Hillary knew there was another candidate on the Democrat side.
Hillary is so fucking bad, I hate how far ahead she is. I don't think she has any chance of beating Trump.
"Hi America, this is Hillary, your candidate for president. No, you don't get to choose this time- we made sure all of our party's resources are committed to getting this 'primary' thing out of the way quickly and painlessly. We know what you really want, so now you shouldn't worry about it. We wouldn't want you to accidentally vote for the wrong person, right? Good. See you in November!" This was essentially the party's plan. I know some people are totally behind Hilary for her positions, and that's fine, but for a huge segment of the party's rank and file, we didn't appreciate having our minds made up for us. So we rallied behind Bernie instead, whose candidacy only worked because he came from the outside and built his own support infrastructure, and used only money raised through his own network. If he had tried to compete from within the system, he would have been steamrolled like O'Malley. I really hope the Sanders campaign has put the party on notice that this shit can't be allowed, and if Hillary loses in November, we clean house at the DNC and throw Shultz and her cronies out.
If only these voters who aren't voting because they don't like Hillary knew there was another candidate on the Democrat side.
Because... People don't think anything Bernie says will able to pass Congress because GOP hates him slightly less than Hilary, because he's a democratic socialist.
If only these voters who aren't voting because they don't like Hillary knew there was another candidate on the Democrat side.
Surely by now they know of Sanders.. the media is almost saturated by this David & Goliath teeth grit of a DNC Primary.
Surely by now they know of Sanders.. the media is almost saturated by this David & Goliath teeth grit of a DNC Primary.
Nope it's been revealed by CBS CEO, that they been focusing on Trump because Racism and Hate make GREAT PROFIT!
I'm still pretty damn sure Trump will lose this election to her. I mean people are going to give way more shits when pushed closer to the reality of Trump's America. edit: fuck it :toxx: Trump will not win the upcoming election. I only hope White Fat Lump has toxxed for the opposite.
If Sanders isn't the Democratic candidate Trump is probably going to be President
I'm still pretty damn sure Trump will lose this.
Like I said, he will lose because Panic Votes, and I don't like that. I'd rather have a strong canidate against Trump.
I'm still pretty damn sure Trump will lose this election to her. I mean people are going to give way more shits when pushed closer to the reality of Trump's America.
Only if this means the realization that it wont be a white/straight/totalitarian fascist regime, because that's exactly what a notable percentage of the population seems to want.

seriously, if you thought the gridlock in congress was bad when obama became president, with them refusing to cooperate, It will be much worse if hillary became president, where I wont put it past congress to try to impeach her (and they do have grounds for it).
Like I said, he will lose because Panic Votes, and I don't like that. I'd rather have a strong canidate against Trump.
This is what I think too. Plenty of traditional democrat voters aren't big on Hill but when they realize Trump could actually win they'll step the fuck up. Plus all those Obama voters? Unless they want his legacy to completely disappear they'll have no choice but to vote her.
Surely by now they know of Sanders.. the media is almost saturated by this David & Goliath teeth grit of a DNC Primary.
The media doesn't paint Sanders as a viable candidate.
Because... People don't think anything Bernie says will able to pass Congress because GOP hates him slightly less than Hilary, because he's a democratic socialist.
Hillary would probably be able to pass the most things, it's more a question of those things would be of any notable benefit to the majority of the people in this country. Plus, the GOP hates Hillary the person--and has for a while now--, versus the ideals Sanders has.
seriously, if you thought the gridlock in congress was bad when obama became president, with them refusing to cooperate, It will be much worse if hillary became president, where I wont put it past congress to try to impeach her (and they do have grounds for it).
Strategy wise (and short sided, because Bernie would be nominated) They are going to try to indict her before the election, so they would have no competition for election. (It wouldn't work that way, the Democrats would have to pick Bernie Sanders. That is why I want Bernie in the race until the final hours of nomination.)
You people are idiots if you think Trump will defeat Hillary in the 2016 election. TOXX ME UP BITCHES! :toxx:
Vote Bernie If he loses, vote Hilary Please.
You people are idiots if you think Trump will defeat Hillary. TOX ME UP BITCHES! :toxx:
BARON BOMBS IN 2 BOMBS IN 2
Vote Bernie If he loses, vote Hilary Please.
if he loses, write in bernie be the change you want to see
The media doesn't paint Sanders as a viable candidate. Look at Obama trying to get a republican into the supreme court, because he's trying to get Supreme Court fully working again.
*Trump is elected in, pulls off Trump mask to reveal Trump, swings hardline left+embraces full communism*
Trump might swing towards the middle for the general election, focusing on his policies that appeal more to the masses and less to the extreme right he is using to get the GOP nomination.
Good luck to him getting rid of the taint he's put on himself after his comments on Mexicans and Mulisms. That shit won't be easy to wash off in the eyes of the American public and he'll risk alienating the far right, where he has found his success to begin with. It will certainly be interesting to see what he does though, I don't think even he thought he'll make it this far.
Hillary has 0 hope if shes against Trump. Everything she's used as her shield (her knowledge, experience, etc) trump will absolutely flip on her and use it as a weapon against her. If Trump can repeat the speech quality of his Super Tuesday performance, it's over for anyone but Sanders I think.
All Hillary has to do is put spotlights on the really nasty side of Trump that GOP hasn't really tried doing since they are pretty far to right themselves. Trump is nowhere near as good as Hillary at debating either.
