Raunchy, gravelly-voiced and self-deprecating comedian Joan Rivers, who rose from Greenwich Village standup to occasional host of "The Tonight Show" and star of TV's "Fashion Police,"died Thursday after going into cardiac arrest during a medical procedure on Sept. 3. She was 81.
She had been admitted to New York's Mt. Sinai hospital after she stopped breathing during a procedure on her vocal cords at a New York Clinic, and was placed in a medically-induced coma to assess her condition.
WHY
Fuck me I really liked her
oh man; I thought she would live forever and be immortalized into every single comedy central roast for eternity..
Goddamn
Let us mourn with the timeless words of Gilbert Gottfried

Damn, was really hoping she'd pull through. RIP
Wasn't a fan of her personality but it's still sad that she died.
Robin Williams and now Joan Rivers.
This is a shitty year.
Don't forget Sir Richard Attenborough.
Damn. I always liked Joan Rivers, I thought she was pretty funny.
What a day to be alive

81 is a good age to die at. Think of all the shit she's seen
woah I thought she was in a 'stable condition'
Stable doesn't necessarily mean that they're safe. Sometimes it just implies that their condition was no better or worse than it already was. Also, people can sometimes go rapidly downhill for no apparent reason and die just like that.
Famous for not knowing when to shut up.
Don't forget Sir Richard Attenborough.
And The Ultimate Warrior.
Well that happened.
Damn, such a shame! She was such a hilarious person, always laughed my ass of when she was on the Graham Norton show, she was a legend

I bet if you dug up her coffin after her body has decomposed you would find a pile of plastic.
-changed previous post-
I was never much of a fan of hers, but still, it is rather sad to hear her passing.
RIP
And The Ultimate Warrior.
And Phillip Seymour Hoffman; sadly
Sad, but part of me knew this was about to happen.
After all the deaths I've witnessed, I've noticed that they always get better before they get worse, and die.
I'm not going to rip on her because now is not a good time. I only hope that her death was peaceful and that she felt no pain, but cardiac arrest suggests otherwise..

Pretty sure she was already under anesthesia from the operation, so I don't think she felt pain.

Depends. If it happened to be massive enough, it can carry somebody off almost instantly.

also this.
I never liked Joan Rivers. She was a spiteful person that made fun of how people dress and look while her face looked like it was held tight against her skull with a binder clip
One of the greatest comedians. I really liked her early standup.

Also these double standards are hilarious to me, you guys will get massively butthurt over the subject of anybody dieing, and then on the other hand will celebrate the death of another just because she somehow hurt your feelings or offended you in some way.
