It has to be said every time the word pops up, but feminism is a broad ideology that encompasses many opposing viewpoints. Saying you're a feminist is a bit like saying "I'm on the political spectrum". Sure there are idiots without common sense out there (especially on tumblr) that have earned the word a real negative stigma, but there's also a few hundred years of academics and people that do make sense. He's making a broad generalisation and a frankly ridiculous claim.

Everything leads to a sloppy mess, the people that cause this sloppy mess should be stopped (or it should be allowed to happen as long as clear rules aren't broken) not the sharing of ideas as a whole.
