I was bored earlier today and I hopped onto Fruity Loops Studio. I was messing around with the plug-ins and I made this...song. I decided to call it Butterflies for some unknown reason, but what could I add to it? Keep in mind this is just a short preview of the song I am going to (try to) make.

It doesn't seem to cohesively be in one key or in a set change of keys.
The melody seems very random. Try making it a little more simple, perhaps slow it down a little.
Thank you. I'll try that out. I want to stretch this out into a full-length song but...I lack creativity in my music. What do you guys think should go next?
Start taking pointers from other songs. What do they sound like, what do they usually do? Try to think in your your head about what you are trying to make with the song and once you get a good direction write it down. Really, thinking out your songs helps out a lot.
Mess around a lot, especially with making melodies and changing them. I really suggest learning music theory because it makes you a lot more knowledge about music. I know someone is going to come in and say "you don't need music theory, use your ear", but seriously, don't listen to them. Also try doing some ear training and make up songs in your head.

Honestly, the question "how could I make this song better?" isn't really what you should be asking. It's much better to ask "what issues does this song have?".
if you listen to other pieces of music, especially dance music you will notice that the melody only resolves around a few keys. try and stick with that formula
