I would like to see this perform with one user, and not with 7. Still very cool how you can have 7 people playing high intensity games at once with only one PC.
Think about it: at gaming events, instead of having 5 PCs for 5 players on a team, you could have 1 PC for those 5 players for a team.

Is that correct?
but what's the point
I bet that wasn't cheap
From what i understood it's not like SLI, each GFX card is acting independently for each VM, so you couldn't use all 7 for one GPU stream. Is that correct?
Correct, both CFX (on the AMD side) and SLI (on NVIDIA's side) only allow 4-way maximum, so for this video, they're all operating independently from one another and not in tandem.
According to the description (and video thumbnail), it cost around $30,000.
Neat, just as much as my car. Times ten.
but what's the point
Just because.
Just because all them sponsors.
Fixed.
the main benefit to this build is incredibly low power consumption, heat output, and space requirement. the cost is bit too much to be efficient per build, although it doesnt need to be 30k. You could cut out the SSDs and go with a lower end cpu and make it much more efficient.
If you need it for only 4 people max, it's a different situation as well. You could also save by not buying top of the line graphics card. It'd be interesting to see how to make it work on a reasonable budget.
I fucking love Linus. He's constantly doing weird shit with computers, breaks shit all the time, does everything backwards and has a fun time doing it. It's crazy and inspiring to see him go from NCIX promotional videos to owning his own company.
This makes me wish I had a shit ton of time and money and could build amazing systems just for shits and giggles.
Take a shot every time he says 'hooked us up'.
but what's the point
A great man once told me that science isn't about why, it's about why not.
His mouse sensitivity is so low. Psh casual might as well be playing with a controller. Jokes aside this was cool.
I'm pretty sure he made a mistake on the video title. That is clearly 2 CPU's. Maybe he meant 1 PC. One of the coolest builds I've seen though. Linus seems like a cool dude.

man I am jelly as shit they get the coolest shit for advertising :v: [editline]3rd January 2016[/editline] 1tb SSD I can only manage a 128 gb
The air gaps in his cooling loop irritates me...
CPU used to mean just straight up "Computer", he was using the word differently.
My old keyboarding class teacher used to irritate me so much with this. I didn't know it was a generational thing and not just her calling the whole desktop the "central processing unit".
His mouse sensitivity is so low. Psh casual might as well be playing with a controller.
That's kind of a weird statement, I've yet to see a pro play with high sensitivity.
I love how passionate he is about it
but what's the point
I mean, would it be a LinusTechTips video if Linus didn't experiment with strange hardware configs?
I really wish he'd try and break the pi world record.
His mouse sensitivity is so low. Psh casual might as well be playing with a controller. Jokes aside this was cool.
Funny thing is, playing with a high sensitivity on consoles might be a "pro" thing but on PC it's the exact opposite.
