Formed in 2008 they have already created an album and have played at some of the worlds largest festivals (Rock am Ring, Glastonbury and the Big Day Out)
The Naked and Famous are...(From left to right)
Jesse Wood - Drums
Thom Powers - Electric Guitar and Lead Vocals
Aaron Short - Keyboards and Electronics.
David Beadle - Bass and Electric Guitar
Alisa Xayalith - Keyboards and Lead Vocals
The style of music that The Naked and Famous produce varies tastefully; from electronic tracks like 'Spank' to more 'traditional' indie songs such as 'All of This'. However much they resemble or show characteristics of different genres, they consistently provide their own twist and style of music. Their musical style is most comparable to that of MGMT.
Discography:
The Naked and Famous have released one album, titled...
Passive Me, Aggressive You

The album combines all four of their precursor singles. 'All of This', 'Young Blood', 'Punching In a Dream' and 'Girls Like You' and adds a whole host of other songs that compliment the style of The Naked and Famous. A few gem's on the album that weren't released as singles include: 'No Way' and 'Frayed'.

There is a theme of psychedelia about videos of 'The Naked and Famous' most prominent in their video of 'Punching in A Dream'

The video for 'Young Blood' is equally as good

The final official video I share is the video for 'All of This' the more rock element of the album

I went to the same high school as these guys, and the same music school.
No doubt I'll be meeting them sometime.
Also why "New Zealand WTF?"?
Are we not good enough or something?

I just didn't think that many bands came out of New Zealand and I put that down to my closed mindedness, sorry.
New Zealand has so many fucking bands, they just don't make it internationally on the most part.
Like Savage, it took a long time for his music to get international but apparently when those songs went overseas it really took off.
Thread deserves more views.
I love you OP.
I was going to see them live but couldn't make it, I still have a limited edition 7" of Young Blood and a signed poster though.
Listened to their album, liked it quite a lot actually.
New Zealand have some good musicians, like Savage, fat fredys drop ...
...Blindspott (broken up), Kids of 88, Stereogram, pretty much all of I Am Giant, The Bleeders, The Mint Chicks...
Yep, worked with them yesterday and again tonight.
Fucking love this band.

Also, what about:
No Light

and
The Machine

I find it funny that they are more popular in the states than their home country.

...And Flight of the Conchords
They played in the stage below when I went to see Turisas
We ended up screaming "BATTLE METAL" at their fans

Is that some sort of inside joke?
Is that some sort of inside joke?
Considering "Battle Metal" is the Chorus to the song "Battle Metal"
probably not
Excuse me for not knowing what Battle Metal is.
