Ok maybe I should have named the thread 'Inducing Sleep Paralysis with Chocolate'. But there was already a thread about that, and this thread is just mainly about me trying it and seeing how it goes.
A few days ago this thread was made - http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=830158&highlight=chocolate
I heard that you can have crazy dreams from eating chocolate before you go to bed, and that it can induce Waking Sleep Paralysis (W.S.P.) and Lucid Dreams. So why not give it a try?
Some things you should know first... when you sleep, you're brain releases a chemical that paralyzes voluntary muscle movents, to keep you from acting out your dreams. There is a possibility that you can wake up during this Sleep Paralysis state. Since dreams are caused by DMT, the strongest drug on the planet, people usually see things like aliens abducting them, entities, contact with "beings", and occasionally have Out of Body Experiences (O.B.E.). I have a history of W.S.P. and have never had a Lucid Dream or O.B.E. until this experience.
I also knew about sleep paralasys, I've even had it happen to me. But when I experienced it, I wasn't still dreaming/hallucinating, the only thing weird was I couldn't move and I felt odd. So I guess talk about how chocolate can cause this and if you have experienced this as well.
Well tonight I am going to eat some chocolate and go to bed and post in the morning how it turned out. Here are some stats:

Height - 5'6"~
Age - 17

On any other drug - I smoked some weed at 6PM. It's mostly worn off by now
Night - Friday
Amount of sleep total in week - 42hrs~ (6hrs each night for 7 days)(I am relavtivly tired and worn out from the week)
All foods ingested within the past 24 hours - Sausage egg and cheese McGriddle, PB&J, Chocolate cookie, Fruit Punch Gatorade, French bread Pizza, Dr. Pepper, water
Most recent food ingested besides chocolate - Water
Time of sleep start - 2:55AM
Time of any/all weird incidents if possible - None
Time of awakening - 1:00PM~
Update:
Well nothing happened. I slept pretty well though. I have a very high metabolosim though, so maybe that effected my chances. It worked for the OP from that other thread, so I guess it is still possible. I guess I just got unlucky. I might try again, I still have one chocolate bar left.
I'm gonna try too. I just gotta find some chocolate first :(
I'm gonna try too. I just gotta find some chocolate first :(
I'm kind of scared. The first time I had this happen to me I was pretty scared. But it shouldn't be as bad now because I know what it is. The first time I had no clue what was happening.
I already finished my chocolate bar. I had like a five minute sugar rush and now I'm tired again. I'm probably going to go to bed soon. It's 2:30AM here.
Only 11:30 here but still not gonna go out to buy chocolate. Goin downstairs now to see if we have any.
[editline]11:33PM[/editline]
Do brownies count? I just remembered we had a buttload of those.
CHOCOLATE?!

Fuck what has this place become where people are hoping to trip on freaking chocolate.

I won't be tripping on chocolate. I will be tripping on DMT, which is the most powerful drug on the planet. The trick is, the chocolate wakes you up so you can experience hallucinating without being unconscious. :butt:
[editline]02:41AM[/editline]
I'm going to bed now. I assume I will be falling asleep around 2:55. It's 2:40 here. Be sure to check the thread tomorrow. I'll update it with what happened when I wake up.
What the shit?
"I'm scared" What the fuck its fucking chocolate.

Well good on you for trying it but come on, it's chocolate. There's no need for a fucking trip report or dosage information. :P
But eh, tell us how it goes.

I think he's dead.
Also, there are many other ways to lucid dream. It may take multiple tries of different methods, it's different for everyone.

um, DMT isnt the most powerful drug on the planet.
im not sure where the creator of the chocolate thread got his information but thats not how it works
theres a part of your brain called the serotonergic system which regulates your bodies intestinal movements, mood, appetite, sleep, memory, learning, and some other functions.
during the deepest part of your sleep, called REM (rapid eye movement) your seritonergic system basically shuts down.
because the seritonergic system controls your memory and such, when it shuts down your thoughs kind of start to go crazy, which causes you to dream.
during sleep your body also paralyzes your muscles so you dont hurt yourself while dreaming
sleep paralysis is when you wake up during REM sleeping, so you cant move and youre dreaming while youre awake.
im not sure how eating chocolate before bed would cause sleep paralysis.

DMT is naturally produced in your pineal gland, when you dream your body metabolizes it basically...and this affects dreams
Nothing. :frown:
It's all gravy. At least you had some tasty sweets before you went to bed.

Ya I kind of want to eat the other bar right now. But I'll save it for another try.

oh my bad, i wasnt aware of that
anybody know where i can find a good chocolate dealer in ontario?
yeah man this guy told me he had some real 90 percent cocoa shit!
On a more serious note, I think you would have to ingest massive amounts to get any sort of effect, I've eaten large amounts of chocolate before falling asleep quite a few times, nothing.
All i get is a lot of acne
Nobody's suspected that it's complete bullshit yet?

You fatty.

:v:
It's lucky I have a lightning quick metabolism, I'm 5' 9 and I weigh about 140, I don't look like overly skinny though, it's sweet.
Nothing. :frown:
Me neither. On the other hand, I had one of the best night's sleep in a long time.
I made this as something fun to do while baked so here we are.
So the DMT is flowin' into your cranium but the chocolate interrupts this and causes a backup which then wakes you up but is now gone and now the DMT starts to flow.

Sounds like something he just made up to sound smart.
Really, this whole chocolate thing probably dates back to the Aztec people using it for some crazy spiritual journey. I don't doubt that it works, but I just don't see the point when you can just get drugs from a dealer instead.
-snippity snip-
welp joke woke up after dozing off with jeans, eating a snickers, will report later!!
