For what it's worth, the story behind this was that the character was recommended for inclusion in one of the EU-covering Star Wars character guides, and when the artist was given the description and sketches that referred to their species as slightly equine-ish, they ended up taking it [i]very literal[/i] when making the book's headshot image here. Below is one of the more reserved depictions of the species (with the typically "space exotic" name of Thakwaash)
