• North Korea warns of 'bigger gift package' for U.S. after latest test
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un supervised the test of a new ballistic missile controlled by a precision guidance system and ordered the development of more powerful strategic weapons, the North's official KCNA news agency reported on Tuesday. The missile launched on Monday was equipped with an advanced automated pre-launch sequence compared with previous versions of the "Hwasong" rockets, North Korea's name for its Scud-class missiles, KCNA said. That indicated the North had launched a modified Scud-class missile, as South Korea's military has said. The North's test launch of a short-range ballistic missile landed in the sea off its east coast and was the latest in a fast-paced series of missile tests defying international pressure and threats of more sanctions. Kim said the reclusive state would develop more powerful weapons in multiple phases in accordance with its timetable to defend North Korea against the United States. "He expressed the conviction that it would make a greater leap forward in this spirit to send a bigger 'gift package' to the Yankees" in retaliation for American military provocation, KCNA quoted Kim as saying.
http://www.reuters.com/article/us-northkorea-missiles-kim-idUSKBN18P23J

Downplaying NK's threats for years is only giving them plenty of time and free reign to develop some legitimately scary things. Yes, they make a lot of empty threats, but that doesn't mean they themselves aren't a threat.

Like we should be doing. on the flipside though, with that in mind it's fun to joke about NK when you're not the one tasked with dealing with that geopolitical threat. We can all have fun, right?

I keep saying it but how long are we going to let a country say it's going to Nuke this country or that country before we do something? Or are we not and just going to ignore 15 years of warnings and a willingness until they do it?

We really really do not want a resumed conflict. Personally I doubt we'll ever get there. If that time comes however, we'll know it from other channels than NK spokespersons. Words are just words.
Everyone laughs at them because the missiles don't explode on a country but the reason they don't explode on a country is because they're innovating and testing new missiles all the time. They've got 2 satellites in space already.
one day they'll develop a warhead potent enough to finally destroy the ocean
Where else do you test missiles? Every nation that used ballistic missiles tested them in the ocean.
the only true UN war with full mandate and guess what ... still unresolved 64 years later ...
We aren't going to war because we don't want to get involved. Attacking first would result in many deaths, and a huge reconstruction effort that will likely be put on SK/ the attacking country. This is really something that no country wants to get their hands dirty with, so they just hold back and wait for NK to do something. NK likely won't attack because their various military leaders probably know that if they do attack, NK will be gone within a few months at most probably. Even Kim probably realizes he has it better in NK when it's at "peace" than if they attacked anyone. Them waving their big military dick seems to just be a way to keep countries away, showing that if they DID attack the results would be horrible.
Day by day I am more convinced that the NK question must be resolved sooner rather than later.
Wouldn't it be possible to launch a sneak attack and bomb their nuclear silos before they even realize what the heck is going on?
Wouldn't it be possible to launch a sneak attack and bomb their nuclear silos before they even realize what the heck is going on?
You would have to make damn sure you knew exactly where every single one was and immensely build up the defense of the SK/NK border prior (which would alert NK to something coming).
It's not a very big country to begin with, surely they can't have THAT many silos right?
It's not a very big country to begin with, surely they can't have THAT many silos right?
It's not about quantity, it's about knowing exactly where each one is, and knowing with absolute certainty that none have been missed. But like I said, you would have to seriously beef up the border with troops prior to doing this and that would surely send off all kinds of bells and whistles in Pyongyang.
Oh do something you fat fuck.
What if it is an actual gift package that represents a pivot to friendlier relations.
What if it is an actual gift package that represents a pivot to friendlier relations.
It'll be a book on Juche ideology
The Japan sea is going to be fucking devoid of marine life altogether by the time this shit ends in a giant boot assing by nearly every nation that's sick of NK's shit.
