Anki is a program which makes remembering things easy. Because it is a lot more efficient than traditional study methods, you can either greatly decrease your time spent studying, or greatly increase the amount you learn.
If you know of any good informational sources, don't hesitate to post them!
I am currently undertaking the classical languages of Greek and Latin.
Looks like I'm going to start studying, bookmarking duolingo for later. Thanks!

Duolingo is amazing, you start learning the language and then begin to translate stuff for them.
They get paid for producing translated websites, and you get to learn a language for free!
I started learning German on there but had to give it up after 3-4weeks as my study load increased significantly.
Does anyone know if Rosetta Stone is good for language learning?
Does anyone know if Rosetta Stone is good for language learning?
The actual Rosetta Stone: Yes.
The program: No.
Been teaching myself Japanese the past three months, I'm getting quite good, shame the FP thread is all but dead now. Would be nice to have someone to talk and practice with.

I've never tried it but I've heard it's pretty awful.
Also OP you should add memrise to the list of sites, I've found it to be a really useful site for learning languages.
I want to learn Swedish but I'm going to start using Duolingo to brush up on my French since it's more useful here in Canada

Hmm, would anyone know any other good programs for learning Russian?

Memrise is great and free!
I speak Aspergers
*grunts*
I've been studying German for about 8 months, my grammar is good but I don't have the largest vocab.
I want to learn German so when I get on ww2 games I can scream at people in german
That's something to strive for I guess.
My thread never got locked. Feel free to copy paste the OP, i've been meaning to fix it up. I'm english speaker, still studying French because i don't practice what i preach. I'll take questions in this thread, although i'm going to piss off for two weeks in France.
Just a quick note about the OP, memrise has many more languages, the ones that you listed are just the featured ones. People are able to submit their own sets for any language.
Speak English, Bulgarian, did Japanese for 3 years but not really fluent, and started learning French on duolingo.
Mitt morsmål er norsk.
My first language is Norwegian.
Now you've learned a Norwegian sentence. Congratulations
Perkele
Congratulations, you can now speak flawless Finnish.
I speak Swedish, English and a tiny bit of German

Jumalauta vittu saatana helvetti.
You have learned the basics.
I speak danish, english and a little bit of german
I can also swear in russian
I speak Straylin cunts. If you wanna speak Straylin get shitfaced and add "cunt" to every sentence.
Went for basic french class with a really great french teacher.
But I was shit at that language, and once I hit sentences it becomes fucking hard.
So I dropped out. Probably going to restart once I finish internship.
I'm slowly learning japanese too. But not with this. I use "My japanese coach" on the NDS.
I can already count to 15 in japanese, speaking which day it is. (It's now Nichiyoubi) Sunday.
And now i'm in the hiragana part, how to write the symbols and what they mean. So i'm doing it prettty well i guess.
I do Spanish at A-Level so I'm at the level of fluency where I can read spanish newspapers mostly but watching spanish films without subtitles is difficult if they speak fast and I have difficulty keeping up conversations in spanish.
Add anki to the OP, it's fucking amazing - whenever I encounter a word I don't know I can look it up and add it to the ankidroid app on my phone, and I'll end up never forgetting it. Works for stuff other than languages too.
Any resources to learn Russian ? I have a friend who is a native-speaker so he gave me lessons but now we can't see each other that much. Right now I have very limited vocabulary so any tips would be welcome. Also I can obviously read cyrilic.
First language is Swedish, I'd like to learn Russian.
First I'm gonna have to learn the cyrillic alphabet though, which shouldn't be too hard, I know a bit already.
I took four years of German in high school. Going back to this after a year, it's shocking how much vocabulary I have already lost.
私は日本語をはなすのが上手だと思います。
Took a couple years of Chinese, now working on Japanese, and will aim for Korean when I feel satisfied with the other two. The Japanese thread has some resources that are extremely useful and also funny. Go check 'em out.
