For those who are unfamiliar, the National Enquirer published a story alleging that Cruz had five extramarital affairs. This story blew up on Twitter, and has already done damage to the Cruz campaign.
Some accused Trump of fabricating the story, which he has denied. Cruz has refuted the story. The circus continues...

It'd be funny if this was another one of those rare times that NE was right (They caught John Edwards and Tiger Woods iirc), because part of Ted Cruz's shtick is "I'm the judeo-christian family values good guy conservative" and any kind of affair would fuck that image all to hell. I'm not going to take it with any more than a grain of salt though.

Didn't LBJ do this to someone at one point where he made an outrageous claim where he claimed someone was a pig fucker, and the point wasn't to prove they where a pig fucker but just to get them to deny it? I think that's whats going on right here.
