iirc this was actually for some awareness of female genital mutilation in Africa event.
It's very weird without context.
The cake was as stated above, made to raise awareness of genital mutilation. It was also part of a project illustrating degrading stereotypes of black people through history.
There was a big controversy not only because of the use of stereotype, but also because the people cutting the cake, including the swedish culture minister were all laughing as they were doing it. I think it's also worth mentioning that the artist that created it (the man in the cake) is in fact, black. And said the cake's intention was misunderstood.
