Pretty cheap way to get views, But hey everyone wins this way so It's cool I guess.
Pretty cheap way to get views, But hey everyone wins this way so It's cool I guess.
Still better than that asshole who stomped on a homeless guy's cake and thinking that giving him money doesn't make him an asshole.
Still better than that asshole who stomped on a homeless guy's cake and thinking that giving him money doesn't make him an asshole.
Oh god I remember that, it was horrible to watch.
Pretty cheap way to get views, But hey everyone wins this way so It's cool I guess.
actually technically that's close to, if not over 1000$ that's a pretty damn expensive way to get views :v: But it's an extremely effective and extremely good way to do that.
Oh god I remember that, it was horrible to watch.
God damn it,why do I have to post all the homeless stuff?
Pretty cheap way to get views, But hey everyone wins this way so It's cool I guess.
I dunno, giving $100 to people sounds kind of expensive :v:
Pretty cheap way to get views, But hey everyone wins this way so It's cool I guess.
Yeah, people being nice? Way too easy.
It really surprises me how nice homeless people are, you'd think they would be bitter and angry after everything that's happened to them. Sure they're gonna be nice when you're giving them $100, but even when you can't give them anything they still say things like "God bless you".
That was heartwarming.
It makes you feel good to watch this video but giving such a large sum of money to someone who is homeless can be a double edged sword. I have known a few people who were homeless and while there are the people who are homeless because of the impact of the economy, there is another group who are homeless because of drug abuse or alcohol abuse. I was taught never to judge a book by it's cover so it is hard for me to determine what the money I give will be used for. You give $100 to someone who is homeless and it feels good but there is a chance you just gave someone money to get their drugs or alcohol and that only makes them more miserable in the end. I only say this because this is what I have been told by people who lived that lifestyle. At the end of the day they want something to eat and drink and possibly even put a roof over their heads for the night. I know this sounds cheesy but if you wanna help someone who is homeless get them some food or if you are feeling really generous get them a night in a motel. I wish you could tell someones intentions because I would love to help someone who truly needs it but I don't wanna give someone with a substance problem the ability to fuel their addiction. It's just awful. Good on this guy for doing what he felt was right, I just hope that money helped them out in the end.
it's good and all but he looks like he's about to punch the fuck out of everyone in this video when they're talking to him. why is he standing so aggressively, lovely to watch though
I've kinda wanted to just live as a homeless man for a month or something. Sounds weird I guess, to WANT to do it, but not only would it be an interesting life experience, it'd be a real eye-opener. I don't want to say it would let me know how true homeless people would feel, because at the end of it I'd be going back to my house and warm bed, but it'd definitely bring me closer to it.
Shit, I've seen some of these people when I was driving around here. Damn, good to see someone helping them out; he should hit up 13th east, Lincoln Hwy: There's a lot of beggars there.
Still better than that asshole who stomped on a homeless guy's cake and thinking that giving him money doesn't make him an asshole.
Maybe this has been discussed to death already but that whole cake stomp thing got blown way out of proportion by people that didn't know anything about the relationship Opie and Andrew had.

Interesting watch.
I know it's odd but things like this make me despise rich kids that were born into their wealth.

Libs only see how the money helps the homeless while the conservatives only see the homeless as undeserving addicts who need to find their own way to make money. Its always a mix of both, I think you would have to talk to a homeless dude for a while to find out what happened. The one radio voice homeless guy turned out to be an alcoholic if anyone remembers that. IMO I think people would be more open to donating if the homeless didn't look so pitiful (i.e. just sitting down/standing with a sign looking at people). Imagine if they were playing instruments or dancing or just doing something to make people smile, it would label them as a person with a personality rather than a city problem or a smelly panhandler. The donation mentality would go from "giving money to the homeless" to "helping out a neighbor". Money buys a lot of things, but spending it on yourself can't buy happiness, so gifting this money to others probably made him feel good. At the very least he's not hoarding all of it away for investments or something. Spending money (or gifting it to someone who will spend it) is good for local economies.

The ones who just want the money for drugs, alcohol, or cigarettes will always turn you down. One time I walked out of McDonald's with some food, and a homeless man asked me if I could give him any money. Instead, I held out the bag and said "Here, take it." He didn't want it. I don't know about you but I've never seen someone turn down a McGriddle before.

If you could sit down and talk to someone about what happened that would be great. I met a lot of great people when I used to ride around town on my bike talking to the homeless people I came across. But sadly at least for my town there are more addicts that are homeless than people with financial issues. People roll their window down at stop lights and give them money without knowing a single thing about them and they think they are helping the person and sometimes they are but on the other hand you might give them the money that will kill them. It's a shitty situation because there is no perfect solution.
The two brothers thing was so nice. It almost had me crying.
I commend them, honestly I do. But in a perfect world, these acts of kindness would just occur, not be filmed so everyone can see how good of a person the people doing this are. Don't be me wrong, I have absolutely no problem with this, it's great, at least they did a good deed. I guess I'm just a little bothered by the fact that they feel the need to promote and film it. [editline]wat[/editline] Please don't get me wrong, the video makes me feel absolutely wonderful, I was just saying.

That's just me though.

And sometimes you donate in front of people to teach them something a good person does. I make donations anonymously, but when someone isn't getting enough help from other people, I do it publicly to draw attention to it, so people see it and think about it. It's not about my ego, it's about getting other people to help.

Would it really help them? What if they get pissed at the quality of food you give them? Or it makes them feel like they 'can't afford' better. Is food really what they want?
Someone I know got a homeless person some food and they ended up refusing it because they only wanted money.

These two homeless dudes came up to us and asked for a light, then somehow we ended up giving them a grand total of like £5 and half of a KFC Big Daddy before they said that they would pray for us. It felt nice to know that somebody was grateful for what I'd done and all. But goddamn. That would've been one good burger :v:
