Expect another "Creation Engin-[sp]I mean modified Gamebyro[/sp]" game.
I'd rather wait for an actual announcement but I'm not sure I'll buy it if it's [del]gamebyro I mean uhhh[/del] creationengine, at least unless it's on sale for 20$
0 people will be surprised if it's on that engine though
Just not Bethesda's version of Gamebryo, and it will be insta GOTY material.
I don't really care, I'dd buy it anyway if its more of the same Fallout 3/New Vegas because I'm that sick
There's not much indication that this is about Fallout 4, I could see it happening though. I guess.
I really wish someone else had the fallout IP / multiple studios were working on either a single or separate games.
bethesda is great but I'm getting pretty tired of how terribly optimized everything they make is.
fallout deserves better.

I wish they didn't fuck over Obsidian because New Vegas was significantly better than Fallout 3 (imagine how good it would have been if they had been given three years instead of just two.

If Obsidian worked with another studio and didn't have GB/CE as the engine they would be a dream team. Obsidian would HAVE to help with fallout, 100%, they know how to make a solid game.
Maybe the guys behind metro, or maybe the guys behind witcher, or maybe the guys between whatever, I don't know devs enough to say who would be far better but I know for sure bethesda just doesn't cut it.

Commission Obsidian to write the entire story, characters and basically everything, and then have another studio actually work on the game part.
As good as Obsidian is with writing, they're god-awful at actually making games.
bethesda should just produce games and leave development to other teams.
both elderscrolls and fallout deserve better than what beth has become.

Luckily the next Metro game is going to be open world so we'll see what they're capable of when it comes to that sort of design.

Obsidian doing the writing and the metro team making the game.
instant GOTD material.

If the Stalker DLC level for Last Light is anything to go by then there's good hope for an open world metro game.

STALKER DLC level? I haven't even touched the DLC for Last Light.

There were some teases in a certain image about the Beth conference this year (don't forget they're having their own conference), but they could be holding onto Fallout 4 as a giant announcement.
And hey I'm exicted anyway because.
1. More Fallout Fun
2.The possibility of a new location to explore
3.Say what you will about Creation engine, it's at least more fucking stable, so I'm exicted for that too.
Plus if Creation Engine for skyrim meant NPCs and environments that looked definitely alot cleaner in alot of ways, then I can't wait to see what Skyrim with Guns looks like.

There's a DLC level called Kshatriya where you start in a safehouse/store and your job is to get out to the surface into a small portion of the city and bring back various artifacts to sell them.
It's the largest level in the metro series and is made considerably longer by having to regularly go back to the safehouse to get more filters and ammunition. You find very little resources outside of the base, and it adds a basic loot system where you can cut open the belly of monsters to find ammunition.
It really is a fucking huge level (spoilers)
Last Light had amazing DLC levels. To quickly list them :
Tower Pack is the least good, in my opinion. It just adds a challenge mode which is welcome if you want some difficulty, but it's pretty disconnected from the story.
Developer Pack adds a shooting range which is a welcome addition, as well as Spider Lair which is an amazing level involving a flamethrower and a shitton of giant spiders.
Factions Pack adds the aforementioned Kshatriya level as well as two additional missions where you play as a Communist Sniper Team and a Reich Heavy Squad (the latter is infamous for being the hardest god damn level in metro history)
Chronicles Pack adds three missions where you play as Khan, Pavel and Anna during missions in parallel with the main story (Anna's mission is outright the first level, except you're giving Artyom sniper support instead of playing as Artyom directly).
They're all really solid and add a ton of content. They're also all included by default in the Redux version of the game so there's no reason to avoid them.

Um, where did you hear that?
I didn't even hear anything about another Metro.
I'd really dig a Fallout set on the Alaskan coast.
Isolation, near whiteout conditions, mutant sea monsters, mutants that actively stalk you through the blizzards
It'd be great m8

In the meantime you can always play The Long Dark. It's really good.

4A said they'll reveal something this year. Probably E3
I really don't think making FO4 for last gen and current gen consoles is a good thing. I just hope PC users won't get fucked in the end by console limitations ( for example The Strip in FNV being in two parts instead of one big one)

There's no way the end product won't be dumbed down for the lowest denominator (I can't even say "lowest common denominator" since EA just reported that the majority of Hardline's sales were on current generation platforms).
If beth makes FO4 it'll basically be far cry fallout edition

And Freeside

I still find myself going to Fallout 3 more than New Vegas for two reasons.
No fucking Cazador's
A wasteland that doesn't seem so empty. Yes I understand it's a desert and all but it just feels so bland and boring.

Honestly there's something about the differences between Fallout 3 and the rest of the games that I think are really cute.
The original Fallout lore from Fallout, Fallout 2, and New Vegas takes places on the west coast of America. Nevada and California mostly.
While Fallout 3 and maybe Fallout 4's lore, while a part of Fallout lore as a whole, stays away from the established stuff by developing what's going on at the Eastern Coast of America,
i.e. The Capital Wasteland/Pittsburgh/Maryland/and as rumored for quite some time about Fallout 4, Boston,Massachusetts.
Why do they still want to release the game on the last gen console? Its a waste of time and resource to be porting new games over to the old 360 and PS3 when most players by now would want to buy an Xbox One or a PS4.

I predicted it was gonna be on the Creation Engine before we knew what its name was. The moment Bethesda announced a major engine overhaul for Skyrim it clicked in my head. They're putting out several games on it, just as they did its original incarnation.
All things considered, CE isn't that bad. I have Skyrim modded as heavily as I do F:NV and it crashes 99.9% less often.

The only other engine I could see Fallout 4 'working' on would be whatever's powering GTA V. They'd have to open it up for modding, though.

I just want a Fallout game set in New York City.

There's a hellava lot of indication that there will be a new Bethesda Game Studios game though. They haven't talked about anything for like 3 years (usual BGS takes 3-4 years to release a game).
This could be exciting for BGS fans.
