Well currently im on 3.1.3, im updating to 4.0 at the moment, will it erase all my jailbroken apps, and will i have the ability to jailbreak it on 4.0?

I don't think the 4.0 has been jailbroken yet. Best to wait before updating.
Na, you're fucked. You'll need to re-jailbreak it methinks.
There's no jailbreak for 4.0, you'll be stuck waiting like the people that got 3.1.3 were before it was cracked
