CBS has made its CSI decision: CSI: Miami is being cancelled after a rather incredible 10-season run. CSI: NY is expected to live on for a ninth season, though that’s not official yet.
Though Miami (10.8 million viewers, 2.5 among adults 18-49) had better ratings than NY (10.4 million, 1.9), as we’re sure learning this upfront season, the ratings mattered less than other elements like the show’s time slot (NY was fairly stable in a tougher Friday night gig vs. Miami struggling on Sundays) and the show’s age (the older the series, the more expensive its cast and producer deals).
CBS statement: “CSI: Miami leaves an amazing television legacy – a signature look and style, global popularity and as a key player in CBS’s rise to the top over the past decade. We thank all the producers – led by Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman and Ann Donahue — and its talented cast, led by David Caruso, for 10 outstanding seasons. Viewers around the world will continue to enjoy rebroadcasts of CSI: Miami in syndication and on key digital platforms for many years to come.”
Oh well...
shit show anyhow
And here come the puns-
10 seasons tends to be the limit for a lot of shows for some reason
All these CSI shows tend to suck anyway.

NY is and will always be the best CSI.
Gotta suck for you, OP, you were such a fan - right?
Good. It got shitty after the first season, everyone using that stupid as fuck shades meme because they think they're cool.
I stopped watching CSI a long time ago. Really only seen the original CSI.
They should also cancel the other two CSI shows. They're pretty much all horrible anyways.

The main reason I believe is simple after 10 seasons where is your story going? Sure you still have your loyal fan base, but people would like to seem new more exciting shows. Don't get me wrong i watched CSI: Miami for years but it lacked what new shows are providing. It's going too be a classic and they will still make money off it from syndications and such. All good TV shows normally make it to the 10 season mark and bow out. Now I know that's different with ER. Now that show.......legendary!
I came into this thread expecting "YEEAAAHHHH!"
Was disappointed. But the show cancelling? Not disappointed in the least.
Edit:
God damn ninja pun.

Hell no. Lieutenant Dan makes CSI:NY great.

No, I don't like Miami even close to as much as I like the original.

CSI: NY is easily my least favorite of them all.
I still think the early original CSIs were the best (the Nevada ones).
Though as far as crime shows go, I think I like Lie to Me the best, with Psych! and Criminal Minds both up there as well. All of the different CSI shows are actually fairly down on the list for me. :v:
I never liked CSI Miami, the dull atmosphere really pulled me away from it.
Well I knew one of them was going to get canned and I'm glad it was Miami, my least favourite CSI to watch.
They had better have Miami die in a nuclear explosion.

God please, how will I work! I'm ruined!

Original Law and Order!
Miami wasn't anything like the other two CSI's, it was more like an action movie. And of course sunglasses man would always kill the guy at the end, or save the day somehow.
Glad to see it gone. Didn't even deserve 10 seasons. Now hopefully they can pull Vegas out of the rut it's in, and New york will just keep on going.

I was actually thinking about Stargate SG-1 being 10 seasons, but yeah ER too.
But, I would much rather a show end on it's own terms than being cancelled whether due to lack of interest or the channel's decision. ER did that pretty well, their last episode was pretty awesome.
The puns will always live on.

CSI is practically the BEST way to pass time without getting tired of the show

Psych is my favourite!
M*A*S*H* Was an eleven season run show, and easily one of the best ever.
NCIS is on Season 9, and while I love it, I can't see how it'll go for much longer.
Maybe they can pick up Firefly.
