The carts were tied to poles to prevent them from sinking, but somehow the guy got tied to the cart instead of the pole

Wait I dont understand, sitting in a rolling shopping cart is likely to warrant some injuries, but to get flung from one after it comes to a sudden stop? wow I mean, if they're being pushed, the speed they reach is going to be equivalent to the speed of the person pushing - why not just run and jump into the lake or use a bike?

Me and my friends used to sit in shopping carts and push eachother into the curb so we'd fly out and land in grass. It hurt a bit but it was fun as fuck.
