Hey guys. So as of mid December I finally got super serious" about losing the last bit of spare tire. Up until now I had just been slowly building up the will and ability and skills needed to do it. But now my I noticed a slight problem. Just above my ankle on the inner side there is a bump on both sides which hurts when touched but there is no moment of my ankle which will make it hurt. On the right side there is a slight lump to it. On the left side there is no lump just a dual small dot that looks like a bruise (pencil eraser size) that sort of looks like a 2 on a dice. but it does not hurt when touched. from January to February I ran three miles, Then I did the elliptical. Lost 12 pounds since January. Are these symptoms from exercising? If so what do i do? I sort of fear getting out of my well working rhythm.
I would say it's a swelling of the muscle tendons or fascias on your medial ankle. If you say it's above your ankle (and I think you're referring to the part just above the epiphysis that sticks out), then it means it's just around the connection between the tendon and the muscle. So, this would actually be an inflammation. I suggest using otc NSAIDs in cream form, for about a week, while taking a pause from running. You can though, try riding the gym bike after 3 days or so. If after 7 days it doesn't improve, go see a doctor, it might be something more serious.
according to this my superior extensor retinculum is bleeding :/ thing is I have been doing the eliptical so i am not quite sure how that is messing it up. there is no impacting on those.
You don't necessarily need an impact to fuck things up, a repeated movement can put on stress also. Just go see the doctor, we can't really help much.
sounds good :D
Do you have a flat foot? Or on your way to a flat foot? Damage to that tendon can be done through bad posture in running too, like pronating the foot too much, but without you actually realizing.
Do you have a flat foot? Or on your way to a flat foot? Damage to that tendon can be done through bad posture in running too, like pronating the foot too much, but without you actually realizing.
how can i tell?
how can i tell?
Now I'm no expert in ankle injuries so I don't know, but the only position which comes to mind that encourages that is bad pronation while running.
could it be possible i need new exercise shoes? I think i will wait a few days and see what's up and if it is still there on monday i will see the doctor i suppose.
Good running shoes are definitely recommended if you're going to run. I've got shitty 15$ walmart running shoes and I've had to take frequent breaks to let my hips and ankles recover because it does jackshit for impact absorption.
what is a good brand? I think i can finally bother to get them since I seem to finally be motivated to do it :D
These should work. http://shop.reebok.com/us/product/men-reebok-sublite-duo-run-shoes/EH083?cid=J96060&breadcrumb=svZu2Z1z13y9lZ1z13070
Need to get new shoes myself so any recommendations is welcome.
