Those accidents are very rare in France. This is the biggest one since 1988. I take the train almost every day, this is kind of scary :(

This is indeed very rare, I wonder what the actual cause is, as our railway system isn't known to be particularly bad...
Maybe those roms took some copper off. damn roms.
Just imagine waiting for your train, and the next second a goddamn train hits you. It's pretty scary.
Also the train was not stopping at this station and so was traveling at ~150kph.

Switch didn't point the way it needed to, train enters said switch at 150 km/h when the limit for those is usually around 30.
Though looking at the pictures there no switches so this is REALLY odd. It just seems like the train decided to dive to the right for no reason? Might have been an earthquake happening at that time but that would have been mentioned.
Really odd because there doesn't seem to be anything apparent that would cause this derailment.
