• Could I potentially get this guy in trouble?

So about a year ago, my 8th grade class was finishing up a class magazine, one of the production crew members for my class went against the head producer for the AM class, and added stuff to the magazine that they didn't want. Whats bad, is what happened after. The two guys started fighting, and one of them (Who I shall now refer too as Mr. X) start harassing the other guy (Who I shall now refer too as Mr. Y) about the fact that he is part German, calling him Nazi and all this other crap. Fast forward a couple months, this fight is still going on, and getting worse and worse...and then I get involved. Now Mr. X is mad at me too, calling me a Nazi lover and all this other crap, fast forward another couple of months, (to February of this year) and Mr. X starts targeting another friend of mine, being extremely creepy, explaining, in great detail, what he'd like to do to her sexually. Finally, after being pissed off at all of us, he downloads all the files off my server, and says (his exact words)...
I've had it with you. Anyway, how is downloading files off a public server theft? It's like saying reading the US Constitution online is theft. I don't think you'd get very far in a lawsuit.
I end up responding with a rather stupid retort (I'm really pissed off at this point)
Thats like saying me leaving my phone in a public place, and you taking it, isn't theft
He replies with...
Not really, you have those files posted online. An analogy more similar to yours is that you have a port open and I hack in and steal your files. Those files were publicly online, and most likely were indexed by google. Adios, viejo amigo.
"Not really, you have those files posted online." This part really bugs me, those files were not public, they were on a server...MY property. So, basically what I'm trying to figure out is, can I get him in deep trouble for harassment, sexual harassment, and unauthorized access into my property? TL:DR: Idiot harasses friends and downloads files from my server, without permission, can I get him in trouble.
Troll.
People don't like tattle tales. If he's pissing you off, sock him in the face, if you won't be able to take him, then deal with it.
Password your shit, idiot. He can't get in trouble.
Beat the shit out of him
Tell the teacher
I am pretty close to beating the shit out of him to be honest, and no, I'm not a troll, just curious on other peoples opinions here.
beat him up do it do it
Oh, and the files involved WERE password protected
Okay then beat the shit out of him with a lawyer
Oh, and the files involved WERE password protected
do it dooo ittt
Stick the long dick of law in to his mothers vagina.
Oh, and the files involved WERE password protected
How did he get the password?
If they were files you didn't want people to get and you had them on a server where he was able to find and download them then you're an idiot.
He didn't, thats the thing.
If they're copyrighted materials, probably not. [editline]04:15AM[/editline]
He didn't, thats the thing.
Then how did he get the files?
I hacked your serber because it had a port open!
I have no clue, it was a strong password, and he kept on going on about using a program called "sitesucker" but that shouldn't have gotten him around the password.
You downloaded your own files wat
Why are your files on a server at all?
OK, the files were on the server because I was giving them to the two people who were actually involved with this.
Fucking lawyer how many times do I have to say it take his ass to fucking court
Bait him into downloading more files, but slip some kind of undesirable file in there. What you do from there is up to you.
OK, the files were on the server because I was giving them to the two people who were actually involved with this.
were these files copyrighted?
No, they were logs of all the chats and what-not leading up to this point, the files he took aren't the issue, I'm just curious if the act itself can allow me to do anything. Bradmastah: I hear you, and believe me, I'm considering it.
is it really worth that much money in court costs to you [editline]12:25AM[/editline] because you would lose
Quick guess, J.Bryson is American
Yep, why do you ask
If you were a real American you'd kick his ass.
