TV chef Jamie Oliver has said young British people are "wet behind the ears" and European immigrants are "tougher" workers.
The presenter, whose restaurants include the Jamie's Italian chain, said they would all have to close if there were no migrants to staff them.
"There wouldn't be any Brits to replace them," he said in an interview with Good Housekeeping magazine.
Young British people were not good at "long hours in hot kitchens", he said.
no surprises there
I'm about to start a job with long hours in a hot kitchen
I don't think I'm ready for it
Preparing food is a really shit job, I worked as a waiter in a cafe and I just had to prepare drinks and even that got hectic around lunch, the kitchen staff were always exhausted.
Bring on the 100 hours then Chef, I'd like to point out that you're going to pay me for those 100 hours with no funny business.
oh, doesn't seem like a good idea now does it chef?

hardest job you'll ever have
good luck
don't get snappy with people is my only advice, anyone. it'll just backfire quickly
He's trying to compare a group of people who have travelled over a thousand miles to better themselves and putting them against average citizens from another country, especially one with a higher standard of living. Oh and no one wants to be a chef because the work environments are shit, toxic, anti social, long hours, shit paying, life sinks that only people with a passion for cooking want to do; this is what they exactly mean with "Can't handle the heat." Immigrants don't mind doing it because its better than whatever shit paying job they had back home, to them its a killing getting £6 a hour.
Maybe he should start paying his workers higher wages before he starts slagging off British people. Every time Jamie opens his mouth all he seems to do is slag off the Working Class people and put us down, then tries to claim he loves Britain and its food, he's a insufferable wanker sometimes.

as long as its not fuckin raw he should be safe
Jamie Oliver is pretty much the most pretentious ass in cooking anyway. He single handedly killed good food in schools and oozes smug where ever he goes. I wouldn't miss his restaurants.
Jamie Oliver's food is rather boring. Tried Jamie's Italian, pretty average.
Plus he's a messy chef. All he cares about is speed and not cleanliness. Its only his personality that got him on TV.

I only watched one of the episodes and it's tv so it can't really be taken seriously but aren't american schools serving fastfood?
I went to his restraunt in Norwich with my parents and it was underwhelming. Service sucked too.
I'd like to hear what he is paying his staff. I am sure that will explain a fair portion of the "whinging".

Free trade between countries means forcing workers to engage in a race to the bottom with workers from other countries.
Free trade, WITH regulations preventing the exploitation of workers, would be fantastic for everyone. Free trade as it is now is fantastic for the owners of businesses.

Drink plenty of water, believe me, you'll need it.
Migrant workers don't work any harder, they only work cheaper. My girlfriend is not a migrant worker and she works 70+ hours and I'm fed up of hearing about these so-called superhuman immigrants.

an incredible comparison of a blanket term for people who you don't share a birthplace with and the lady you stick your dick in

Actually workforce participation of all the A8 countries were found to be significantly higher than native Britains.
They also generated more economic activity and jobs they took.
Also my gf is a migrant worker and she has like 1-2 days off a week at best.
