I bought a hookah at Value Village for $10. It's pretty clean given it's used and the only real issue is the tube reeks of some scented tobacco but how well did these work with weed?
I have heard it's not recommended at all to smoke using a hookah but other people say it works with weed and hash.
Anyone have first hand experience with this?
I would love to know as well, I have a nice big hookah that I use to smoke shisha tobacco, but I'd love to try smoking weed out of it. I've talked to some friends who have tried it, but their answers are never clear (I seem to get a different story from everyone). They usually say that you have to use a lot of weed for it to actually get you high, though. You could always just pack some weed into the bowl and smoke it with a lighter, like a bong. I am afraid that the vaporization process that the tobacco undergoes isn't very efficient for vaping the weed - I don't think it gets hot enough.
Hopefully some one else has first hand experience with it here, though.
I only smoke shake in a hookah as far as weed goes. A big pile of shake. It's tasty if you roll it in the shisha.

The hookahs that I've used haven't worked because the indirect heat wasn't hot enough, assuming your hookah is the type where you put hot coals in a top grating and the smoking subtance (in our case, weed) in a grating below the coals.
Our hookah here works like a champ with bud. Just mix some shisha or it will be way to harsh(Mine was atleast) and you won't be able to take any more hits after the 3rd or 4th one because your already to fucked up then. Plus if you mix some good shisha you can get a flavorful smoke that feels great and gets you high as shit in no time. We usually do 75% shisha and 25% bud but it is alway up to you. Btw the bud was also ground up.

Also some good coals that start great and burn pretty good are three kings. There is really nothing else we get because all the rest suck. Well at least everything below the three kings price range. Also if you go to the dollar store you can get pre-cut foil that comes with 100+ sheets. (It might be 1000 but don't quote me on that.)

How cheap of shake? I could pack this bowl to the brim but that would take a lot of weed and a lot of money.
I usually mix 50-50 shisha/weed, for the first bowl, then 75/25 for any more. And the coals will burn it fine.
I heard it works fine but noone uses it round here because supposedly it makes the pipe taste like weed afterwards and you can't use it for shisha tobacco anymore without it tasting like a used pipe

Weed works in hookah, can get you pretty fucked up. Just put it in with the shisha and mix it up. It does make the hookah dirty though, the resin clogs it.
Yeah I just mix up 1 quarter chron 3 quarters shisha and I get blitted.

The way I've always done it, 3 footer hookah, metal grill with a handle, coal burning on top of it...
I let the mu'assel heat up for about fifteen minutes, less if the smoke builds up fast enough. Lift the grill off, sprinkle your weed onto it, then set it back down and continue the rest of the smoking session. If you're using aluminium foil with holes poked into it, though, I can understand how it might be hard to lift it after everything's heated up, so mixing the weed in with the mu'assel would be best in this scenario. Really, though, I recommend buying a re-usable metal grill to put on top of the bowl. I get the idea that you waste less of your weed this way.
I only say mu'assel because I was introduced to hookahs being called a shisha, which I was told at the time was the Egyptian word for them rather than the Arabix word for them. Granted, this was in Germany, but... Old habits are hard to break! I even have a burn mark on my floor from when my buddy, high as Hell, rolled back into the chair laughing and kicked the hookah so the coal got nudged off and landed on the hardwood floor... Good times. God, I miss weed.
:Edit: Oh, and, for clean-up, soak the glass bottom in [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodium_carbonate]sodium carbonate[/url] crystals and hot water for about an hour. I always threw in the metal parts for a good soak, too, but I was never entirely sure how safe that was for the metal itself, so I'm not gonna recommend it without further research. Definitely a good way to clean up the glass and clay bits, though!
I smoke a mini-hookah with bud. What I do is I put a layer of sheesh on the bottom, sprinkle a few tiny nugs on top, cover that with sheesh, then top it off with some bigger nugs, cover the bowl part in foil, and smoke it up with the coal. I usually get pretty damn retarded.
I have a hookah. They aren't that great for weed in my opinion. I've been told it's more of a waste if anything. Just stick to the traditional pieces if you wanna enjoy. Making edibles is also a good way.

When we tried it didnt really work. the guy who toked on it first gets high but after like 6 tokes it vaporized all the weed and he wasn't even stoned at all. Smoked a joint with 1/4 as much weed as we put in the sisha and we were all blazed as hell so i dunno we might have been doing it wrong but it seems like a waste. smoking the tobacco is nice but make sure you get the shit without tar or nicotine but it'll make you feel really ill if you arent a smoker

Mixing the hookah tobacco with weed is a great way to waste money. Most of the weed at the bottom is not even going to vaporize.
If you want to make sure you are using as much weed as possible then put all the weed on top of the tobacco, in the middle, and the foil should be pretty close above. Make a lot of holes in the middle of the foil as well to make sure you get the weed as heated as possible. You should also get some quality coal if you're going for this method, as the cheaper coal doesn't get as hot.
The best way is to just use it as a bong though. Don't put the coal or tobacco in, just close the bowl with foil, make a bunch of holes in it, put the weed on top and light it up.
Smoking weed out of a hooka works exactly the same as a bong, the only difference is you'll probably waste more weed in a hooka since it will be more apt to get "rolling" (when the weed keeps burning even after it's hit). And obviously it's gonna give you a different kind of hit.
Me and my friends usually just spread some under the coal, burns pretty steady and 5 of us can get decently fucked up.
Get some fruity hookah tobacco and mix hash in it. hash burns much slower then weed :P
I only tried it with weed but I think hash even works better because it doesnt burns so fast. Weed in a hookah is a bit wasteful but its worth to try. I mix 0,3g (dont know how much it is in oz) for each person into the tobacco and it works just fine, its also good for people who arent into smoking.
I used to smoke weed out of my hookah but I stopped because people would get a weed buzz going when all they planned on was shisha. But when I used it for weed we didn't use a coal we just lit it every time we hit, we got baked.
My friends and I smoked ganja through our hookah, and it absolutely DESTROYED us when we used it. Just sprinkle some shake or some ground up bud on top of your shisha, and smoke it like you normally would smoke hookah. It's just like hitting a bong but at a slower pace. Pretty sure hash would work even better.
sprinkle some bud over the shisha, that's the best way to do it and then you wont have to use a fuckton of weed.
unless that makes you sick, i know some people who get hella sick when they smoke hookah and weed
I don't know how using a hookah with weed somehow perplexes people and they think it won't work.. You can definitely tell when the weed is burning because it is much harsher then shisha/smokeblends

Shisha can knock people on their ass.. I've had to lay down before because we smoked almost an eigtht through the hookah, which wouldn't normally make a difference but the shisha buzz started adding up
