Uganda's army on Thursday recovered a cache of elephant tusks that it says was hidden by the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) rebel group in the jungles of the Central African Republic. In a statement the army said that a squad of soldiers that is part of a mission hunting rebel leader Joseph Kony found the small stash of ivory following a tip-off from an LRA defector. The Ugandan army - backed up by around 100 US special forces troops - is spearheading the hunt for Kony in a vast area of sparsely populated jungle. "This has raised concerns that LRA groups may be using the illegal ivory trade as a method to acquire new supplies or forms of support," said the statement from the anti-LRA coalition. The LRA has split up into small groups and Kony is currently thought to be hiding out close to where the borders of the Central African Republic, South Sudan and Sudan meet.
http://www.news24.com/Green/News/Uganda-rebels-trading-ivory-for-supplies-20130207 Personally I don't think this surprises me one bit. The illegal Ivory trade is a very lucrative business and I am sure the LRA have no problem with it considering their reputation.
of course it's no surprise. if they're willing to hurl children into the meatgrinder in hordes, they're more than willing to kill animals to raise funds for their cause.
But still no Kony... Edit: Seem's Kung Fu Jew loves to mash that Dumb...
Is Invisible Children still around as an organization? I haven't heard a peep out of them in months, and I'd nearly forgotten about the LRA and Kony.
Is Invisible Children still around as an organization? I haven't heard a peep out of them in months, and I'd nearly forgotten about the LRA and Kony.
They're probably making another 30 minute video to bore everyone to death with.
But still no Kony...
Looks like those action kits didn't have enough action in them.
Organisations tend to find it healthier to fade into obscurity once their leaders get caught screaming and jerking off in a public fountain
The others probably just retired to the tropical islands they bought with the money they made off the kony stuff.

KONY 2013?
Don't worry guys, we'll get him next time. Just be sure to buy the more expensive kit this time.
Actually he was interviewed by oprah after his breakdown.
And so was Neil Armstrong, but you don't see him writing any new books, do you? :v:
Konychiwa, how are we all doing today?
That's not how puns work.
itt people think Kony's crimes are no longer horrible because of their ~edgy~ opinion of a 30 min. video
Kony's forcing elephants to fight for him, obviously.
itt people think Kony's crimes are no longer horrible because of their ~edgy~ opinion of a 30 min. video
it's because the video was far too late to be relevant not because it was actually trying to help for a good cause
Great Work! Now find the other two caches so you can turn in the quest!
Does that mean I can claim my 1000 experience now?
Nevermind, I suck at video embedding.
itt people think Kony's crimes are no longer horrible because of their ~edgy~ opinion of a 30 min. video
it isn't that, it's that the shitty kony2012 campaign seemed to turn him into more of a joke then a menace. that was a horrible campaign.
