And I don't think their uniforms were all that unique. US uniforms weren't much different than the British, either. Someone without knowledge of the individual parts of the uniforms could probably mistake them.

Multiple times. Dice gave out some BS along the lines of "we want to give special attention to the French".
I would be, and most would be, perfectly fine with the US ending up as a later on expansion pack to bring about more late-war weapons.
I guess I shouldn't be surprised, Dicefront was basically an Ikea game.
They were more then likely working on this game the same time as Battlefront, and plus EA wanted Battlefront out before Ep7. Might explain some things.

What difference does it make if the game has content with the French depicted at release or a few months later in a DLC. How is their explanation BS? It makes perfect sense.
The video shows DICE is even taking the time to respect the contribution of the Indian and ANZAC regiments for the commonwealth faction, and they easily could have gotten away with not doing that. But apparently not including France and promising a huge amount of content for them is a deliberate show of contempt?

It's a sign of laziness and cash grabbing, it's a carrot at the end of the proverbial stick for the European market.

Excuse me but not having France in the base version of a WW1 game (you know, the war during when France lost [B]1 400 000[/B] soldiers ) but still having the Americans who almost didn't do anything compared to France is an enormous insult.
The yanks should have been the ones getting a DLC, not France.
Also I'm pretty sure they decided to make a DLC for France after seing how many people were pissed for not having seen it in the reveal trailer.

because the western front was fought primarily by the French and UK
the us only joined the war in 1917 and didn't actually start fighting in earnest until 1918
as well, some maps seem to take place in FRANCE
