I want to get into some music creation, I feel like its a good way to let out my creativity. The problem is I suck at actually playing musical instruments, im into my dubstep specifically skrillex songs and was hoping to learn how to make that genre of music. Note I do know that its more than pushing a "Make Waffle" button, you need to know of oscilloscopes, wave generators and all other sorts of electronic devices. Im currently on linux so my main tool I guess would be Linux MultiMedia Studio but I will have a Windows PC soon. I was just wondering if anyone could point towards some linux specific tutorials (I live video tutorials more but W.E) on making this kind of music? Even if its just the theory of the instruments/components needed (as in how synthesizers or oscilloscopes or W.E tie into the hole thing)
I have no idea how you would go about doing this on a Linux. :s I guess you could try finding something along the lines of, "Linux based DAWs" that support VST plugins and all that fun stuff. That would be my first guess though.
Seems Ardour supports these things If not what are good windows programs to use for begginers?
For Windows, I would have to say FL Studio is most people's first guess for simple starters. Even complex layouts can be accomplished with enough time. It has a fantastic interface, it's easy to use, and there's hundreds of tutorials on it and plugin use is very easy in my opinion.
i didnt even realize it when you mentioned it but LMMS is what you are talking about, do you know where you can download more VST?
I need to find either a sound pack or another vst plugin for dubstep sounds. I got the nexus 2 vst with some sound packs but my dubstep one won't work
