AKA oh shit we cut all the actual character develolpment edition
https://youtu.be/8AO19XY2rqc
Now with 6 hour run time to help explain all the unnecessary shit shoehorned in
So how much of what they just showed off was in the movie?
Nothing can save this movie.
Considering how the ultimate edition of watchmen was so much more better than the theatre cut, i am looking forward to this. I've actually been looking forward to this since the day I saw BvS because the editing was just way too bad
is it tradition for Zack Snyder movies to have a director's cut?
I like how Zack designs and stages shots. He's a huge fan of diagonal composition and so am I...
but god damn it I wish he could just make a good fucking movie

Honestly, I think Zack's problem is less "Not able to make a good movie" and more "Not able to make a good movie in a limited timespan"
As Xephio said, the director's cut of Watchmen was significantly better than theatrical, while also being considerably longer.
Zack Snyder has this problem where he tends to make his films too immense and grandiose, simply taking too much screen-time to properly unfold. He needs to have people sitting there telling him when to rein things in, because when left to his own creative devices, he will turn a 2-hour film into a 5-hour saga.
That try hard R rating right there
Making the movie longer is not going to help it.
Movie wasn't even all that bad
Like amongst so many legitimate complaints are just people who sound like they don't pay attention to the movies they're watching
Alot of the complaints from viewers and critics actually had an explanation in the movie to the point it felt like they were purposefully looking for stuff to hate on.
I still like this is a problem. Is there another retail version centered around the theatrical release? Is the Ultimate Cut going to cost more to suck more money out of "loyal fans"? This also begs the other questions; is the movie really better for these added scenes? Does adding more time to the film gonna make up for the ultimate failure that it was originally in theaters?
I think it doesn't. If the movie tanked by both critics and audiences, what would more scenes add other than more time out of buyers? The LOTR trilogy did it best because they were good, and more good content from it meant that there was more to love, even if some of the scenes didn't add up to anything.

Such as?
My brother said he liked BvS and didn't like Captain America CW.
I reported him to Homeland Security.

I don't think a longer cut could help Sucker Punch be anything but shit, and that was Zack's own thing too.
Zack Snyder's quality in his movies depends on the source material. Like Ridley Scott except shittier.

well just to name one because i don't want to get into a big debate, the whole mothers name is Martha concept, people were slating it even though it made sense and was actually explained in the movie.

How? I am raelly confused as to how this makes sense.
DC really sucks at making live action
they need to stop for a few years and learn from Marvel, even if it means they just try and copy them
however their cartoonified movies are amazing because they don't suck massively, but they just don't get the attention live action gets
since batmans the only character that works with grimdark the Nolan films weren't suck
[editline]3rd June 2016[/editline]
that or they should just stop trying to make every character batman grimdark and everything would be better

You could easily do a grimdark superman that would really work. Make the conflict about how Superman struggles to be the best he can despite the world falling apart around him.
No, this doesn't mean he has to turn his back on mankind, nor does he have to level a major metropolitan city when fighting a handful of bad guys.
Instead, just make him the shining light in a dark world. He's the embodiment of hope and justice. When badguys start shooting at him, he grabs their guns and breaks them, but then takes the guys to jail. He doesn't beat them up, or monologue, or anything. Have the conflict be like it was in the first superman movie: He can't be everywhere at once.
Let his humanity come through when he becomes enraged (at himself, not the world) that he can't save everyone. And then, have a Lois Lane or Ma Kent or someone tell him that the fact he goes around and saves people in the first place is greater than what the average joe does.
Make him Superman, not Gloomyman

Well I mean, that's the issue yeah, the only emotion he had in Man of Steel was "I'm pretty serious, I'm like, so serious guys, look at how SERIOUS I AM"
[t]http://fsymbols.co/pictures/thumbs/1/thumb-serious-face-directly-at-camera-1018.jpg[/t]
make Superman not this grimdark twat and actually properly convey emotion and a grim dark movie will work
only issue is because of the time issues and how desperate they seem to be at being marvel they don't translate everything well.
Another issue with BvS' depiction of Superman was to try and make him out as some god figure.
The thing is, Superman as a character is flawed. If you're trying to equate Superman with Christ, it doesn't work, as Christ is set as a flawless, totally pure individual, who could only be that way by being the son of God.
Don't try and make Superman into some deity, but instead make him the man that all people should strive to be: Honest, just, caring and selfless.
Not ">:C" incarnate
alternatively they could just turn all of their films into satire and make it so grimdark and sour that it parodies itself
also, superman being viewed as a god, that's the LAST thing Clark/Cal wanted
he wanted to just be equal to humanity. He wouldn't stand for people viewing him as a god.
alternatively they could just turn all of their films into satire and make it so grimdark and sour that it parodies itself
And that's another thing. I'd love to see a spoof movie where it's the campy 60s Batman pairing up with an equally campy Superman with the "Biff!" "Pow!" effects.

Going campy would probably be best only hope at this point. Marvel sure as hell isn't doing it. and grimdark super hero personalities are shakey.
I'll watch it. I want BvS to be good and I'll give it a second chance.

And turn that into a plot point as well. Have him turn to reject the idea of godhood or that he's above others, and have him talk to his followers about how they too [del]can prevent forest fires[/del] be good people.
It should be a story about how will and courage trumps whatever powers you do/don't have

i've been saying this for years, dc should quit the live action game while they can and just focus on their animated films.
it's about time we've had theatrical hand-drawn animated films on a regular basis again.

Fuck dude, Mask of the Phantasm and Under the Red Hood are some of the best Batman films out there

Literally nobody said that was bad because it wasn't explained. It was bad because it was a poorly thought out (and imo also poorly shot and directed) scene that, in five minutes, did a complete 180 on two hours of motivation for Batman's character
