Some serious shit by the sounds of it.
Hardcore Russian hooligans who are ‘well prepared for ultra-rapid, ultra-violent action’ may attack English fans again this week.

The Russian Football Union expressed regret over the fighting and Russia's sports minister described those involved as a disgrace. But other senior officials have praised the hooligans openly as "real men". Meanwhile the fans themselves seem largely unrepentant, even proud. "This showed who is the most important among hooligans," Alexei, a supporter of Moscow's CSKA football club who says he took part in the clashes, told me by phone from France. He said Russian hooligans learned much of what they know from the English. "In the 70s and 80s everyone would bow down before the English," Alexei says. "Now there are different hooligans. These are different times." ... But they do describe a new breed of Russian hooligan - younger, fitter and more sober than his English counterpart. "Now many people are boxers or into mixed martial arts, and Russian hooligans often follow a very healthy way of life, avoiding alcohol which used to be part of the subculture," explains journalist Andrei Malosolov, co-founder of Russia's Fans' Union.
They have also been reported to have gum shields, batons and flare guns.
English hooligans have almost died off but they're still well known from the past so they're now a 'scalp' for the now better organised and more violent fans (like the Russian and Marseille ultras).
English hooligans have almost died off but they're still well known from the past so they're now a 'scalp' for the now better organised and more violent fans (like the Russian and Marseille ultras).
Do Leeds still run around like they own the place?
Britain did it first these noobies are just pretenders As a plus russia is diversifying its economy from oil, now its primary exports include football hooligans to france and arms to east ukraine and syria.
I'd say "christ, it's just a sport" but I suppose these are just violent assholes who decided they had an excuse to beat people up for fun.
Do Leeds still run around like they own the place?
I've been to almost every home game for my club (Crystal Palace) for about eleven years The worst fans we have had are probably Brighton and Milwall (because they're our rivals), but independent of that, Middlesbrough and Leeds. The only time I've ever seen any violence of any kind inside the stadium was when some retard decided it was a great idea to sit in the Crystal Palace end of the stadium in the FA cup final and cheer when they scored. There has been occasional violence far outside of the ground, however, but our ultras just seem to mostly (of course there are probably exceptions) committed fans who make the atmosphere of the stadium good/organise displays etc.
I'd say "christ, it's just a sport" but I suppose these are just violent assholes who decided they had an excuse to beat people up for fun.
I sorta see the attraction in it. Gives an identity and something to do on the weekend. Lets you feel like some alpha male/real man etc. Like fighting in secondary school was fun for lots of young boys, like the very physical aspect of american football is fun along with the sense of belonging you get from the us vs them type of mentality. Violent assholes yes but there are reasons for them to do it. People crave identity and belonging.
To think some members of the union actually praise senseless violence between these parties over a fucking sports game. I think you guys were born a few centuries too late.

Russian hooligans have always been in an entire other weight class when it comes to violence.
As if the fact that there are people who just start beating people up for fun isn't fucked up enough, people in Russia are cheering them on and saying it's a-okay. How long do you think it'll take before Russia is banned completely from competing in any sports events
Russia 2018. Can't ban russia from that. Legit think people will die unless they clean their act up sharpish.
I'm honestly baffled they're going to be a thing. Remember Sochi 2014 and how systematic the use of banned substances was?
I'm all for giving Russia a chance with international events but they really need to sort this violence stuff and corruption stuff for it to not be a disaster.
I have a colleague who is like an oldskool type football hooligan who still meets up with his old QPR firm for the odd tear-up at weekends. He holds down a reasonable job as a site manager for one the UK's biggest housebuilders. Doesn't come across as aggressive at all but he is quite a big lump. I don't condone any football violence but in a way it's like rough justice for some of these British hooligans who have been throwing their weight around for years. Now it looks like the new kids on the block are younger and fitter and more organised.
Come on england! Where's that famous violent rage we hear about so much? Are you going to let the Ruskis beat you at your own game? In 1980, The United States won the cold war by defeating Russia in the most American game around: Hockey. Today, the cold war rages on and England must now pick up the torch! Football Hooliganism is England's national past time, and you're telling me Russia is winning?
I wonder if they're worse than Portugal's NN "cheering squad". Iirc, they had a fuckload of crimes behind it.
I wonder if they're worse than Portugal's NN "cheering squad". Iirc, they had a fuckload of crimes behind it.
They most likely have mafia backing if I remember right.
that fucking quote "In the 70s and 80s everyone would bow down before the English," Alexei says. "Now there are different hooligans. These are different times." they're evolving

Well unless the fighting was televised live on BBC1.
Most of them surely did Sambo some time ago We are fucked
wtf the Russian vice president even said they did well on Twitter
wtf the Russian vice president even said they did well on Twitter
This is war
Surprised they knew the different between an Ultras and a Hooligan. Usually they group them together. That made me a bit happy.
Dutch hooligans seem to be mostly braindamaged youths who drunkenly chant racist and other offensive shit from the stands. Then when the police move in, they start videotaping everything and put it on youtube in a "look how the police is mistreating us" way. Unfortunately for them it doesn't really stick when you see people with baseball bats and ACAB shirts throwing things and provoking the police.
They probably watched Green Street too many times. This is pretty shitty to be honest, they came over attacking English fans who then fought back in self-defence yet none of the Russians have been caught yet.
football fans are the worst
They probably watched Green Street too many times. Russia only sends their hooligans and rapists. We need to build a wall all along the border.
Russia only sends their hooligans and rapists. We need to build a wall all along the border.
Hmm Russia is pretty strong, it would need to be made from some sort of metal, iron perhaps.
football fans are the worst
No, football hooligans are the worst.
They most likely have mafia backing if I remember right.
That makes sense. I think I remember them being that infamous because they upped the level for sports rioting around here due to being plain gang level criminals with resources instead of just very angry sports fans. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supporters_of_S.L._Benfica#No_Name_Boys The wiki doesn't mentions it, but I'm pretty fucking sure they're in hot shit. They would be a lot less secretive if they weren't, and then again, Benfica supporters are always complete fucking lunatics.
