Music that everyone should have listened to at least once

Post songs that you think everyone should've listened to atleast once because it's that well made or just that brilliantly played
Starship troopers: Klendathu drop
Simply brilliant, these kind of orchestra's are always awesome

Wim Mertens' Struggle for pleasure covered by Soft Verdict

Hans Zimmer's Call of Duty 2 soundtrack, the demolition victory theme
Simply brilliant

yes, because everybody in the whole world should hear the "Call of Duty 2" soundtrack. :v:
Redundant thread.
You posted in less than a minute from me posting this thread, are you kidding me?
and I'm not a big expert in this area, more of a combined effort thread to find the gold
This is essentially "Post your favorite song"

It's a directionless thread mate.
People are different and this doesn't really go anywhere as a discussion.
Get my drift?
If you haven't listened to this song in all its glory you might as well burn all your CDs records tapes and delete all your files because you just haven't experienced any good music at all and you might as well begin fresh and new with this masterpiece of music.

I know people have different tastes, but I'm looking for that song that everybody likes and is commonly seen as a masterwork
But let the thread die if you guys think it's going nowhere
"Music that I think everyone should listen to just because I like it"
Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon, because of its originality and influence.

In this day and age I think Wall would be more appropriate.
Although that's not my personal preference.
Bohemian rhapsody.

Too bad everyone has already heard it.

Yeah. There's like barely any jazz or blues, and a lot of the albums, while are good, are far from essential listening. Like R.E.M.'s Green. I like it, but it's got shit on Murmur or Automatic.
Check out this book if you can. Everything is well written and while it does have mostly rock albums, it was plenty of jazz blues r&b classical world and other music to show a nice diversity.

I like that list.

I guess the three Marvin Gaye entries are what attracted you to the list.
In Utero isn't in there, shit list.
I still don't get how people can prefer Nevermind over In Utero.

Erykah Badu actually.
I didn't expect an album of her's to appear, then I looked through and some obscure ones appear too. Really interesting.

It's a close gap between those two albums.
There is a lot of good music on that list actually.

I didn't like The Wall nearly as much
DSOTM is very mysteriously good. The Wall has good songs but is far from my favorite Floyd album.
One of the problems I saw with it was that a lot of the songs seemed happier than they should've been. The guitar solo on Mother, for example, took a somber song and suddenly gave it this upbeat, happy solo.

My dad has four Nirvana albums, and I've only listened to Nevermind all the way through, and Incesticide halfway (Couldn't finish really, didn't like the music nearly as much.)
I'll have to try In Utero

Well it's Progressive so it's bound to change direction.
Although Wall isn't the best example of theirs it's still progressive rock.

Out of the four albums, Nevermind is really my least favourite, some of the songs were good, but I didn't like it as an album overall.
This thread could've potentially worked if OP didn't post such dumb links

Bleach is my least favourite. In utero is definitely their best though, then nevermind. I don't count incesticide as a studio album, I'd call it a compilation.
