Actually, after DOFP Erik moved to another country (Polland I think) to try to live a peaceful life. He married a woman and had a child but his family was murdered by humans who probably recognized him as the mutant who tried to kill the president.

just like how every movie needs Mystique as a pivotal role.
I think a few of you are forgetting that this is "early X-Men". Magneto's on that fine line of villainy where Xavier is still trying to pull him back, but this is the Anakin moment for him. Whether there's a motivation shown or not, it's at least hatred in some angsty form.
As for Wolverine, he probably won't show up for very long, it'll probably be near the end of the film. Some little set-up for him to join the X-Men.
I'm no fanboy of the Singer X-Men movies, but I do enjoy them. Even when they're a bit off, they're still enjoyable and have some form of substance. More than I can say about any DC movie (omit The Watchmen, because that was just fucking awesome). I'm sure this'll turn out just as enjoyable, even though I'm also on that bandwagon of "J-Law's not a great Mystique".

We already got that in DoFP, Magneto already struggled with his morals and side-switching in that film, and in First Class. I think it's time he had a different plot than just, "Humanity sucks, mutants rule, lets kill all the humans."

Her costume and makeup gets cheaper with every movie, and the blue becomes brighter. It's mainly because JLaw didn't like the makeup taking so long to put on, so now at this point they use barely any prosthetic pieces and instead they basically just paint her blue.
Yes JLaw is the worst actor know to man, a personally horrible person and has actually killed a dozen baby animals.

One of those is mostly true.
I like that they cut the synthesize voice of Apocalypse for his grand "Everything will Fall" monologue. Probably because we didn't want ANOTHER Darth Vader clone. Still liking their actor choice for him, though I do wish he sounded a little more monotone ala Tony Jay, Frank Welker, or Sir Christopher Lee.

I thought she had a reaction to the makeup for the paint, which explains why she never had it on in the very first trailer. As much as JLaw does a questionable job as Mystique, the character is a prominent one in 90's X-men as a stand-in for Xavier during the issues with Apocalypse. I don't remember why though (Charles lost his powers, dies, is imprisoned, or whatever), and Cyclops does become the leader later on.
