Mr Putin said the intelligence leaker remained a free man, and the sooner he chose a destination the better. The US said earlier that it did not seek "confrontation", but that Russia should hand over Mr Snowden.
Snowden is a hero, I hope he finds a nice place to relax at.
Why do people keep revealing his whereabouts? If they keep doing that, he is going to end up dead by the hounds of a CIA assassin. The sooner people forget he exist, the better chance of Snowden escaping.

Probably wouldn't be good for Russian American relations.

I think the CIA has a better way of figuring out where he is than by checking facepunch Also that isn't going to happen
This is turning into a big game of Catch me if you can
Nah, the amount of media attention he gets would be a huge problem for the CIA if they try to get rid of him. It is good for him that everyone knows where he is.
Why do people keep revealing his whereabouts? If they keep doing that, he is going to end up dead by the hounds of a CIA assassin. The sooner people forget he exist, the better chance of Snowden escaping.
I don't think the CIA will kill him...
The sooner people forget he exists the sooner he can end up dead by the hands of a CIA assassin without anybody noticing Also that isn't going to happen
I always pictured Snowden making it and fully living his life in freedom. Then a CIA agent shoots him while he is on his deathbed.
I don't think the CIA will kill him...
Why not? The CIA have done worse things for worse reasons. At most they'll probably try to arrest him and get him locked up for life. Hopefully he can get to Ecuador or Iceland.
Hey look at these action movie fans who jumped the gun :v:
didn't take long for them to catch him. i hope he won't be tortured

$10 says he's in the custody of the CIA on his way to an unnameable black site [editline]b[/editline] Extraordinary Rendition
download you better pay up
the eyes of the world are on him; killing/illegally kidnapping/torturing him like the CIA usually do will result in an absolute shitstorm. as long as he doesn't stray into a country that's gargling the US's cock like the UK then he's about as safe as assange
Hey look at these action movie fans who jumped the gun :v: download you better pay up
Since its American authority its actually possible
He'd probably be under heavy guard because Russia know's he's a high value target
They're not going to kill him. The damage has already been dealt from the United States' perspective; now they just want to arrest him to save face. If he was threatening to reveal stuff he might be killed but he already has. It would just be petty pointless revenge at this point, and far too risky to justify.
It's actually a scary thought when you consider that an intelligence agency that works for the government can actually just get up and have somebody killed, without any legal connection to themselves if need be. Then it's even worse than you realize that's the truth, and that it has happened before.
Why do people keep revealing his whereabouts? If they keep doing that, he is going to end up dead by the hounds of a CIA assassin. Actually, killing Snowden would do irreparable damage to the US's prestige. It would be a foreign relations doomsday and draw condemnation from pretty much everywhere except Costa Rica and Israel. This isn't Jason Bourne, guys.
Putin is like "mmmhmmm, yes... vot can you... offer for the boy?". I just know.
It's almost like the Russian equivalent of The Terminal (T.Hanks) That was a brill movie :D
Who is snowden, whats going on
I don't think this is true. I think Russia is covering for him. There's no way they would reveal his location so acutely. I really do hope he can disappear into the mist and the CIA loose him forever. I know I'll be rated dumb, but the government has done worse things for even dumber reasons, and some of those things were leaked to the public, with absolutely nothing done about them. These things will continue to happen, and I see no one doing anything about it. Join a protest. Write to one of your senators. Sitting around and bitching isn't going to do a damn thing.
Who is snowden, whats going on
I was wondering the same. The wiki article seems up to date with what's been happening.
This reminds me; is Julian Assange still stuck in the Ecuadorian embassy? [editline]25th June 2013[/editline] Yep. Seems like he actually lives there now. That's gotta suck.
i find it funny how people are acting like this is dorner 2.0 and coming up with bizarre ideas of how he will (he probably won't) get away. pretty soon we'll be getting a 'can't corner the dorner' for him.

It would be an awesome plot point if the Russians invited Snowden over, and then kept him there forcefully while copying all of his information to their intelligence officials. Hacktivist turned unwitting spy and kidnap victim? I'd watch that.
This is great news but as snowden says we should focus on stopping this insane survalience instead of making all this about him.
