Sad that hes a bit bummed out about having even done the role.
Poor dude
Well on the bright side his performance and voice acting were solid.
It's just that the character didn't fit the star wars universe. He would fit right in some pixar movie though.
After watching him do the scene from taken I can see jar jar as the real phantom menace. Maybe he was suppose to be the main bad guy after all.
I saw TPM when I was like 7.
I think Jar Jar is shit. Don't really think we are growing up and wondering "why" people think he is bad.

The only reasons people defend him are based purely on nostalgia, when they were young and found him to be a likable and funny character.
I should know, I was one of those naive kids.
lucas hand picked that voice for jar jar, out of 5-6 others
why doesn't this surprise me
scary Jar Jar is kinda cool, I hope some day a really well done fan vid of sith Jar Jar comes out with him as jar-jar

who thought to themselves "you know what kids would like? eating Jar Jar Binks' warty tongue."
They wasted Ahmed on Jar Jar. He's quite handsome and might've been good as a regular character of the story.

Or they could've just made JarJar more serious with some comedy sprinkled in.
As George himself said, he might have gone a little too far in places
Jar Jar is just another part of this
Or they could've just made JarJar more serious with some comedy sprinkled in.
or they could've eliminated jar jar altogether since he's just a cheap characterless gimmick to appeal to kids

They could have removed the entire Gungan aspect of the film and it would have changed nothing. Might have even made the film better.
is it weird / bad that I actually like the Gungans (sans Jar Jar, of course)

"Jar Jar is the key to all of this..."

I still like the theory that he was a drunken wushu style sith.
To be fair he absolutely nailed what George told him to do. It's a shame to see him bummed out about having been in Star Wars.
I hate Jar Jar, but only because he was played so magnificently.
The ending was really funny
Strange, he had a bit of a different attitude earlier last year.
