Hey guys and gals. My newest electronica project just released their first single and I'm dying to get some feedback on it. I was going for an 80's synthpop feel, but with a modern edge. Any thoughts? Thanks :D [video]http://soundcloud.com/in-dreams/crazy-enough-official-single[/video] [editline]27th June 2012[/editline] Oh and I used the following gear to get the authentic 80's sound. Casio CZ101 Yamaha DX100 Yamaha TX802 Korg Poly800mk2 Casio SK-1 Casio PT-10 Digitech Vocalist Yamaha sh-10
Holy fuck shit that was incredibly well made. I literally cannot come up with any critisism, other than "could you please not stop doing this". Honestly, this is the best I've heard in a long time, fucking great work.
Thanks dude! I'm so glad you dig it so hard hahaha :D [editline]27th June 2012[/editline] Oh by the way did you hear the dog bark samples?
Would be nice if the basslines were more prominent, the mix is so good a lot of the instruments seem to get a little lost. Its all about balance with electronic music, the vocals and production are pretty spot on though! [editline]27th June 2012[/editline] Maybe there is a slight lack of low end instrumentation?
Could be ya. I actually was having a bit of trouble with the lower mids so I tried cutting some low end from certain synths. I know what you mean though. Room for improvement!
Yeah the mix is a little too filled and the drums are kind of too loud and they make the glorious synths fall a little in the background. I would maybe put some sidechained delay on the vocals. But holy shit this is great. I mean that stuff is just nitpicking this is actually magnificent.
haha Ya I have a habbit of over complicating things... Like this had I think 30-40 tracks! But delayed/Sidechained vocals sounds like a cool idea :) We are working on our first album, so this feedback will be really useful!

Then whenever the vocals are quiet you can hear the delay. It can be quite a cool effect and it prevents the delay from muddying up the mix.
Oh ya I understood. I actually did that on the new track we are making now cause the delayed vocals had harsh distortion on them. (this is my old user account I had on here) Ok - noob question here: how the hell do I log out?
I loved it man! keep up the great tunes!
