The Silence of the Lambs is a 1991 American thriller film, which blends elements of the crime and horror genres. It is directed by Jonathan Demme and stars Jodie Foster, Anthony Hopkins, Scott Glenn, and Ted Levine. It is based on the novel of the same name by Thomas Harris, his second to feature Dr. Hannibal Lecter, a brilliant psychiatrist and cannibalistic serial killer. In the film, Clarice Starling, a young FBI trainee, seeks the advice of the imprisoned Lecter on catching a serial killer known only as "Buffalo Bill". The film won the top five Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Director and Best Screenplay. To date, it is the third and most recent winner of this achievement.
One of my favourite movies, mainly due to the badassery of Hannibal Lecter.
It's a great movie.
But you need to remove all those links and shit, obviously shitty copy and paste is obvious.
Fixed.
Odd, I watched this today as soon as I got up.
I don't know why, I just felt the need to.
It ubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again
PUT THE FUCKING LOTION IN THE BASKET
Movie's awesome. They picked the best dude to play Hannibal, or at least I thought they did.
Book is good as well.
in my opinion the best scene in movie history is [sp] When Hannibal escapes[/sp]
Ah, this film is absolutely amazing. Watched it a few times through. Anthony Hopkins was the perfect character to play Hannibal Lecter.
Put the lotion on the skin.
I cut my self so I could bleed...
that guy scared me.
This movie is incredible. The other Hannibal movies arguably don't live up to this but are still great.
'Red Dragon' is a prequel that shows how Hannibal got captured and after that hasn't got much to do with him. He's still in it in much smaller role. It has Ralph Fiennes as the real villain and he's so great, I consider him a better villain than Buffalo Bill.
'Hannibal' puts Hopkins right in center stage but doesn't have the same overall quality that Lambs had. It also doesn't have Jodie Foster as Clarice but instead Julianne Moore. On the plus side, it has Ray Liotta being drugged and fed part of his own brain and Gary Oldman as a survivor of one of Hannibal's old attacks.
What was the ending to Red Dragon? I rented it on the XBl marketplace awhile ago but it expired when I got to the last five minutes :frown:
One of my all-time favorite movies :D
I remember when I first watched it, back when I was like 14 or 15, when Hannibal first meets Clarice and he talks all that trash about her...
Hannibal Lecter: You know what you look like to me, with your good bag and your cheap shoes? You look like a rube. A well scrubbed, hustling rube with a little taste. Good nutrition's given you some length of bone, but you're not more than one generation from poor white trash, are you, Agent Starling? And that accent you've tried so desperately to shed: pure West Virginia. What is your father, dear? Is he a coal miner? Does he stink of the lamp? You know how quickly the boys found you... all those tedious sticky fumblings in the back seats of cars... while you could only dream of getting out... getting anywhere... getting all the way to the FBI.
Clarice Starling: You see a lot, Doctor. But are you strong enough to point that high-powered perception at yourself? What about it? Why don't you - why don't you look at yourself and write down what you see? Or maybe you're afraid to.
And that later on she broke down and cried... it made me feel sad about her! :(
Jame "Buffalo Bill" Gumb: [to a mirror] Would you fuck me? I'd fuck me. I'd fuck me hard.

BEST one liners of the movie, hands down :v:
I fucking love Anthony Hopkins in that movie. He played a great role.
Anthony Hopkins and Alan Rickman (from Die Hard) really paved the way to the classy villain.
Jesus shit. If I knew Ted Levine played Buffalo Bill I'd never be able to take him seriously in his role in Monk.

BEST one liners of the movie, hands down :v:
I think it's funnier when Clarice says it really seriously

The ending is the greatest part of the film. You should watch it again. I'd tell you the ending but a lot happens and I'm not good at describing movies.
Fucking great film. Loved every part of it, especially [sp]Dr. Lecters mastermind escape :)[/sp]
Funny fact: I saw this film in school.
Anthony Hopkins is a fucking god in this film. Every word is laced with awesome.
