That's the only way this sentence makes any sense. And it still doesn't make sense.

Over $20,000 have been pledged in the past 3 days and it seems really inconsistent with the number of backers.

2 days before they had funding, they had $32,000. Conveniently 2 contributors donated $11,000 each towards the project so they could reach the goal and access that $32,000 of real money.

A bump is pretty common towards the end of a Kickstarter anyway.

If the trolls were adding backers, you would see a spike that wasn't part of the first couple days of funding. But then again, this all is pretty meaningless, it is most likely people upping their pledges after they released some very basic gameplay.(from what I understand, a lot of people pledged $1 to follow it constantly, hoping for a substantial update.)
