The first news site is Forbes, which was recently sold to a chinese company. They continue to report based on completely outdated information and present personal speculation as fact. They compiled a list of “red flags”, based on information spread by trolls from our Kickstarter comments section. They continue to post articles that site commentators as sources (commentator's who's history consists of posting exclusively negative lies about us), which goes against all sorts of journalist standards. We believe that the level of unprofessional-ism that they have presented is due to lax editorial standards because of their recent sale to a Hong Kong based company.
They are now claiming that our success on Kickstarter is fabricated, whilst conveniently failing to mention that people are using multiple accounts to make a bunch of 1 dollar pledges, and every time a new backer comes along, they remove 1 or 2 pledges, so that it looks like our sum is increasing without any new backers. We personally think that Erik Kain, the writer of the articles on Forbes, has a huge personal bias against us, and is doing everything that he can to wrongfully discredit us. His writing is the absolute antithesis of objective journalistic integrity. He is a writer who feeds on controversy, and who is making a name for himself by posting slander against Areal.
Just read the whole thing cus holy shit
Also their kickstarter got funded so welp
This entire KickStarter, whether totally legit or not, is a mess
can kickstarter cancel a kickstarter after it's funded? this shit is super shady and bad

Some day, someone will make a proper stalker game, and it will be the best shit ever.
Can someone tell me whats going on in the comments?
Holy fuck the comment section for that post. There are several guys spamming the same wall of text with list of "trolls" so nobody can discuss anything. They've lost whatever credibility they had choosing to fight "trolls" rather than to make a game.
is there a possible fabric of reality where areal can turn out good?
can kickstarter cancel a kickstarter after it's funded? this shit is super shady and bad
they don't get the money until the funding period is over, so kickstarter has 3 days to intervene.
alternatively i think people can still cancel their backings
is there a possible fabric of reality where areal can turn out good?
known as the areal effect, in all of the infinite universes not a single one has areal turning out good
this seems like…areal disaster

What the fuck is their problem?
Isn't S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Lost Alpha a whole new game?
How dare you
Oh christ, they're going for the Chewbacca defense as an attention-seeking move to try and maximize their haul.
I hope it backfires hard.

What I get from this is, they're saying that a group of people are purposefully trying to make it look like this isn't gaining new backers? That's the only way this sentence makes any sense.
And it still doesn't make sense.

What's the Chewbacca defense?

They're like the Amy's Baking Company of the games industry.

Criminologist Dr. Thomas O'Connor says that when DNA evidence shows "inclusion", that is, does not exonerate a client by exclusion from the DNA sample provided, "About the only thing you can do is attack the lab for its (lack of) quality assurance and proficiency testing, or use a 'Chewbacca defense' … and try to razzle-dazzle the jury about how complex and complicated the other side's evidence or probability estimates are."
Basically make the jury unsure of evidence by presenting attacking the evidence with an insane troll-logic speech. I think this person isn't thinking of the right phrase.

My bad, the Chewbacca Defense actually applies to all "Red Herring" defenses, and the blaming of news outlets does fall under what is normally expected of a red herring.
I mean I wouldn't consider myself a kickstarter expert by any means, but this seems kind of fishy.

Note pledges per day graph.
Over $20,000 have been pledged in the past 3 days and it seems really inconsistent with the number of backers.
2 days before they had funding, they had $32,000. Conveniently 2 contributors donated $11,000 each towards the project so they could reach the goal and access that $32,000 of real money.

If they plan on scamming people then they might as well just take out money from the bank and pay the rest to ensure the $30k they already raised. A bump is pretty common towards the end of a Kickstarter anyway.
this sure turned into areal piece of shit
man this kickstarter is a rollercoaster and a half

something is odd about that pledge amounts and number of backers gained.
If the trolls were adding backers, you would see a spike that wasn't part of the first couple days of funding.
But then again, this all is pretty meaningless, it is most likely people upping their pledges after they released some very basic gameplay.(from what I understand, a lot of people pledged $1 to follow it constantly, hoping for a substantial update.)
