WASHINGTON (Reuters) - George Papadopoulos has pleaded guilty to lying to FBI agents, the federal special counsel said on Monday, becoming the third adviser to President Donald Trump’s campaign to face criminal charges in its investigation. Papadopolous is an international energy lawyer who was on Trump’s advisory team during the 2016 presidential campaign. The Chicago man pleaded guilty on Oct. 5 in a case unsealed on Monday, the office of Special Counsel Robert Mueller said in a statement. The court document said Papadopolous made false statements to the Federal Bureau of Investigation shortly after Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20, when the law enforcement agency had an open investigation into Russian government efforts to interfere in the 2016 U.S. presidential campaign. Important to note that this isn't just a checkbox he failed to tick. Papadopoulos was in active contact with powerful Russian figures, and working to help promote relationships between Trump's campaign and Russia. That's three key figures in the Trump campaign who have now been charged with illegal activities involving the Russian government and entitities, including Trump's campaign manager, Paul Manafort, who was just arrested and charged this morning with "Conspiracy Against the United States" for laundering money for Russian-linked political entities in the Ukrainian government. It's getting pretty damn hard to deny collusion between Trump's campaign and Russia.
Another thing to remember him by
Three days after Donald Trump named his campaign foreign policy team in March 2016, the youngest of the new advisers sent an email to seven campaign officials with the subject line: “Meeting with Russian Leadership - Including Putin.” The adviser, George Papadopoulos, offered to set up “a meeting between us and the Russian leadership to discuss US-Russia ties under President Trump,” telling them his Russian contacts welcomed the opportunity, according to internal campaign emails read to The Washington Post.

Another thing to remember him by
No Collusion here, no sir.
It's getting pretty damn hard to deny collusion between Trump's campaign and Russia.

Ok guys, the cats out of the bag on this russia thing. It's time to move to step 3. Repeat after me: "There is nothing wrong with collusion"
It'd be pretty dandy if Trump got booted out of office. He hasn't been in long enough to do irreversible damage yet, and we'll have avoided a Hillary presidency as well. The only thing is Pence needs to get the boot as well or we'll be even worse off, at least in terms of civil rights.
--
I think you're absolutely right, and have been saying the same thing for quite some time now. The focus will shift, among the cult, from denying the collusion to defending it as a necessary and patriotic decision to embrace our friendship with Russia and save us from the Evil Warmonger Hillary Clinton.
Hope they got/get some good information out of him.
Another thing to remember him by
Thought he was trying to set up meetings but nothing ever happened, so nothing can be pinned on Trump's campaign for this? Just more smoke, but no fire
Thought he was trying to set up meetings but nothing ever happened, so nothing can be pinned on Trump's campaign for this? Just more smoke, but no fire
This Tweet dissolves the narrative that Trump's campaign was unaware and never took action: Papadopoulos's emails were circulated among unnamed Trump Campaign officials (noted as being "high ranking"), who decided to make contact using a "low level" proxy to avoid detection.
So this is for real this time? No more half-assed "SURELY he cant WRIGGLE HIS WAY out of THIS ONE," this is the first step to something actually happening for a change?

And the second domino starts falling
holy shit
This is going to get better before it gets worse
This is going to get better before it gets worse
Depends on which side of the fence you stand. I'd say the revelations are going to get worse, then things will start improving. If we're really lucky, maybe the GOP will completely collapse.
Oh my god Remember this date people, 30th October 2017. It will be in the history books.

Oh my Gooooood It's on! YES! Man I just love this kind of stuff. Mueller must have had everything already set in place to let the first domino fall. The upcoming weeks (or months) will eclipse whatever happened around Watergate.

Halloween's Eve for some, Christmas Eve for others. This Holiday Season brought to you by Tim Burton.
Weren't there some people here who toxx'd that Trump would never make it to the end of his first term? They must be feeling pretty safe right now.

I'm hoping MrRalgoMan doesn't forget that he Toxx'd that he wouldn't dispute the findings of the Mueller investigation.
