A judge who placed several anti-government protesters under house arrest has been killed by two unknown assailants in central Ukraine, the interior ministry said on Wednesday.
The ex-Soviet country has been hit by large-scale protests since November, when President Viktor Yanukovych balked at signing a deal deepening ties with the European Union under pressure from Russia.
Scores of demonstrators have since been detained -- some of whom have been charged with crimes carrying sentences of up to 15 years in jail.
The ministry said Oleksandr Lobodenko, 34, was murdered in central Ukraine's industrial city of Kremenchuk overnight on Tuesday.
He "had recently examined the cases of several people who took part in protest acts" and who were charged with "occupying public buildings", it added in a statement.
But the ministry made no direct link between the cases and the murder.
Uhh
"According to the ministry, the judge had refused to detain the protesters, placing them under house arrest instead."

Because death is awesome yo especially when the families are hurt.
But honestly, SH has some of the worst readers I have ever seen:

I think the judge did great considering the pressure he was under from a corrupted government, losing his job, shame, etc. He held his ideals the best he could, but hey, he was a major oppressor good thing he died right?
Why are people rating this winner?
Because people seem to think it was the protesters that are responsible when it could easily have been the government.
Because people seem to think it was the protesters that are responsible when it could easily have been the government.
It could've been any old whackjob at this point e.g. some ex-con holding a grudge. They're one of the least-trusted professions in Ukraine, and quite a few have been killed well before the protests started. One thing's for sure, his death is going to be spun to hell and back to suit whoever's agenda.

In 99.9% of the cases judges are corrupt as fuck. He could just leave his job, just as other people do. I suppose i know some more than most of you do, 'yo'.
