The "super-Earth" planet, GJ 832 c, takes 16 days to orbit its red-dwarf star, GJ 832, and has a mass at least five times that of Earth. It receives about the same average stellar energy as Earth does and may have similar temperatures to our planet. These characteristics put it among the top three most Earth-like planets.
Source: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2014/06/140630133425.htm
GJ planet, you were discovered
Awesome discovery. It's a shame none of us will be alive to step foot on it though. I can only hope
GJ planet, you were discovered
Fucking attention whores I swear
So close yet so far
There is a species killing disease or monster there I guarantee it.
There is a species killing disease or monster there I guarantee it.
Yeh but we already have those here too, so why are you worried?
Cause somebody goes there gets sick everybody dies or worse brings it back and black death 2.0 on a global scale. Think for a second dude.
I like how they make these planets partly green, suggesting there's life on the surface.

Dat gravity though
yeah, only 16 light years away.
yay gravity.
Warp 9.1 Engage!
yeah, only 16 light years away.
It's significantly closer than almost all other exoplanets. It actually ranks third closest as well with Kapteyn b at 13LY and Tau Ceti E at 12LY. Outside of the Gliese system, with a few exceptions, the closest one we've found is over 400LY away.
I can only imagine that that planet has higher gravity. If we sent a colony there they would become dorfs in a few generations.
Awesome discovery. It's a shame none of us will be alive to step foot on it though. I can only hope
Mass Relay's and then Reapers !.
Cause somebody goes there gets sick everybody dies or worse brings it back and black death 2.0 on a global scale. Think for a second dude.
Ever the optimist. Also you may want to watch a few less movies.
I can only imagine that that planet has higher gravity. If we sent a colony there they would become dorfs in a few generations.
no we would have the techno how to make domes and fix the gravity for us assuming that making that up is easier then space travel.
I can only imagine that that planet has higher gravity. If we sent a colony there they would become dorfs in a few generations.
That or they'd become fucking ripped from having to cope with higher gravity.
Hey at least they are making a map of the general vicinity of Earth. Maybe with the paths they calculate theyll have self-updating map software, and, incase you're ever lost out in space, you'll know where you are. Right?...
I can only imagine that that planet has higher gravity. If we sent a colony there they would become dorfs in a few generations.
I wouldn't say no to Dwarf Fortress 2.

Think for a second dude.
Why is everyone rating you stupid? People can believe two rocks collided and created humans. But it's not plausible that two rocks collided somewhere else and created other complex organisms that could potentially be plague or disease like to humans?

But it's not plausible that two rocks collided somewhere else and created other complex organisms that could potentially be plague or disease like to humans?
Probably because it's not so much a voyage across the sea as much it is a voyage many, many years and stars away. Dare I point out the obvious
