A producer is merely the person who funds it. I don't think anyone creatively involved in 300 is involved in this.

The producer doesn't fund it, movie investors from companies like 'Warner Bros' do - a producer uses the assets he gets from the investors to hire the team of his choice. A producer is essentially an organizer.

300 was cool to me when it came out, but when I watched it again a few months ago I found all the slow motion to be frustrating and boring to watch. I don't have high hopes for this or a 300 sequel if they are making one.
