Dylan Baumann of Omaha said brown recluse spiders are crawling across his walls and floor boards. He has to sleep with is bed away from the wall and shake out his clothes and shoes before putting them on, KETV, Omaha, reported Wednesday. The spiders are not aggressive but they are venomous. Dennis Ferraro at the Douglas County Extension Office said the mild winter and hot summer may be making the infestation worse. "We virtually did not have a cold winter this winter, and the hotter temperatures that we're having would probably allow for more reproduction," Ferraro said. Baumann said he plans to move out of the apartment in September.
Read more: http://www.upi.com/Odd_News/2012/07/25/Spiders-invade-mans-apartment/UPI-94961343243295/#ixzz21pCwFP5A
Can't those things kill you minutes if you're bitten?
Can't those things kill you minutes if you're bitten?
No.
uuuuuh... Brown Recluse Spiders are EXTREMELY venomous.. The venom can possibly eat your skin+flesh away. Why on EARTH would this guy deal with these spiders? What in the FUCK is this guy thinking that its ok to sleep with an infestation. "Oh yeah I'll just move my bed! that'll help."

"Oh yeah I'll just move my bed! that'll help."

The brown recluse’s bite is usually painless and not felt by the bitten person. Symptoms of the bite vary but generally include the following: redness, swelling and a burning sensation developing around the bite within one hour. The red area may enlarge over the next eight hours, and the bite may blister to resemble a bad pimple. Within 24 hours the wound becomes a hardened lump up to 2 inches in diameter, and a scab forms. The wound typically heals within eight weeks.
There is only a handful of death caused by the brown recluse and those have been children or sick people.
No.
actually, the more you know. Brown recluse's hold a potentially deadly hemotoxic venom inside their bodies. Most brown recluse bites don't produce necrosis, but a percentage does, and that can actually kill you. This guy was living with DOZENS of them...
Can't those things kill you minutes if you're bitten?
That's pretty much applicable to anything with more than four legs.
It's necrosis, the death of cells without them falling off or being removed from the body, i.e., the body thinks they're still alive. Your necrotic tissue will rot and possibly spread. One of the best treatments for this is maggots, as they only eat the Necrotic tissue and leave good tissue clean.
stop that STOP IT
Can't those things kill you minutes if you're bitten?
If you were a small animal, yea. You may lose the limb if you ignore it for long enough. On a rare occasion the bite may trigger other effects such as organ damage/failure.
Instantly reminded of
Brown reclusives in and by themselves are not deadly but their bites are gnarly. They Kill the cells thus causing necrosis which can potentially even spread. If you're unlucky you can end with anything from this: To this NSFW, big ass wound - [SUB][SUB]swebonny[/SUB][/SUB] http://api.ning.com/files/FCWD9wKD5HhcAp-EKo-7Y3wOLACmCC-d4KxUAdG0zqaZlSYsQRpJQ8lZ7MSEtjPR99p1VnW6X59kx4HwfWR-1RGp2hDWL9wL/BROWNREC7.jpg (User was banned for this post ("Posting NSFW picture. These spiders are nowhere near as dangerous as people commonly think. Just like the black widow (which is nowhere near as deadly as people make it out to be, and in fact if you are a healthy adult, death due to the bite is rare). [editline]27th July 2012[/editline] Still wouldn't not want to live in an infested house. How the fuck does one sleep?
NSFW TAG THAT SHIT HOLY FUCK
That's nothing compared to the necrosis that a <snip: I'm an idiot, it's the fer-de-lance> bite can bring. (which I won't bother giving a pic of, and is unrelated as it's a snake) Also, nice to see that the article actually used venomous for once, I'm sick of people using the wrong terminology and calling them poisonous.
Oh god I feel like I have spiders crawling all over me after reading that. That guy needs to leave his fucking house ASAP.
I would simply move, or have the house massively bug bombed.
This is, along with wasps building hives in hollow walls, one of my greatest housing-related fears.

Feet are no longer on the floor
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Anglo-Saxon_Protestant ??
Seriously though, those protestants man... I knew a guy once who lost half of his face to a protestant bite
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Anglo-Saxon_Protestant ??
Odd, I swear it used to be called that. Either way, it's the fer-de-lance.
:3
I hate spiders.
Burn the apartment down it's theirs now.
I would have to move instantly. I wouldn't be able to go to bed knowing there were dozens living metres away.
