May 17 An Iranian cargo ship carrying aid and activists crossed into the Gulf of Aden on Sunday and will reach Yemen's Hodaida port on May 21, Iranian media reported, in a challenge to Saudi-led naval forces controlling Yemeni waters. A coalition of Arab countries led by Saudi Arabia has imposed searches on all ships trying to enter Yemen in a bid to prevent weapons being smuggled to the Iran-allied Houthi rebel group which controls much of the country, including Hodaida. Iranian officials last week said they would not allow the Saudi-led forces to inspect the Iran Shahed, which is under military escort, and warned of war if the cargo ship was attacked. "After entering the Gulf of Aden today... we expect to be in the confines of Hodaida port early on May 21," the Iran Shahed's captain, Massoud Ghazi Mirsaid, was quoted as saying by state news agency IRNA. Iran says the ship is carrying food aid, medical volunteers and seven Western activists, one of whom was identified by the Tasnim news agency as Caleb Maupin, a native of Ohio who has campaigned against war and the U.S. financial system. "If they prevent (the ship from docking), which is likely, this is a major human rights violation," Tasnim quoted Maupin as saying in an interview on board the ship. it's practically asking for war I'd say. A ship being escorted with supplies & possible additional troops for the rebels? It's like they want it to get torp'd / bombed (in my opinion). If this kind of conflict continues, I'd say you're gonna have a much larger religious war on, with the possibility of it spreading to the African continent & possbily SE Asia. (in essence, just a worsening of the current regional geopolitical situation in the Middle East.)
Go Iran.
it's practically asking for war I'd say.
Not to be a dick, but the Middle East is at war. The entire planet's reached almost a WWIII state, only it's a focal point of conflict rather than a widespread one. I mean, ISIL/ISIS/Whatever fucked up badly enough to cause the US and Iran to re-open diplomatic relations after decades. At this point it wouldn't shock me to hear that Madagascar is sending aid to the area.
So, South America, North America, Europe and east Asia are all at war?
In a sense they are. EVERYONE has interest in the middle east, an interest that does not particularly focus on the people there.

A few very small isolated wars in North Africa and one minuscule annexation in Europe is hardly "almost a WWIII state".
I wouldn't really describe it as WWIII.
I'd call it "the Arab Winter."
