Primarily to ensure that voters from /v/ don't get completely drowned out by voters coming from somewhere like /r/gaming. That happened with the first /v/gas and nobody was pleased with how it turned out.
That said I don't think FP has the capacity to do something like that so I'm not sure why it specifically is filtered.

Anyone wanna make predictions? This was a shit year imo so I expect only DOOM, Overwatch, No Man's Sky, and Mighty No. 9 to take home almost everything.

I remember when they uploaded the livestream onto Youtube they changed "shittiest game" to "most hated", probably because they received backlash since Undertale isn't a shitty game, it just has a super shitty fanbase.
