Two Louisiana law enforcement officers were arrested Friday in the shooting death of a 6-year-old boy, which occurred as both officers were working side jobs as city marshals, authorities said.
Derrick Stafford, 32, and Norris Greenhouse Jr., 23, were arrested and charged with second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder, Louisiana State Police superintendent Col. Michael Edmonson said.
The boy, Jeremy Davis Mardis, was killed and his father, Chris Few, was wounded after shots were fired into their vehicle at around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in Marksville, after what officials described as a pursuit.
Good to see excessive force being punished this quickly, provably because an infant was involved, I wonder what happened.
"The Avoyelles Parish coroner's office told NBC News that the boy was shot five times in the head and chest, and he was pronounced dead on the scene. Jeremy's grandmother said the boy was autistic."
Jesus.
Its a shame that the anti-police brutality movement has been made synonymous with BlackLivesMatter.
they look so emotionless

They look the same as anyone else in a mugshot.
any particular reason for using archive.is instead of the actual nbc site?

actually it looks like they have been crying, look at the eyes
Edmonson said body camera footage helped lead to the arrests.
"I can tell you, as a father, it was one of the most disturbing things I've witnessed," Edmonson said. "Extremely disturbing, and it is partly why we are here tonight."
Apparently the body cam footage is pretty damning.
Haha they can't pull the race card this time
Wow, they actually got something more than paid leave. I'm impressed.
Paid leave is the end of the story that gets reported
For the unaware, LA is a cesspool of corruption and deviance for law enforcement. The DOJ is constantly in there.

This took place in Louisiana.

LA = Lousiana

People need to stop saying this. Paid leave is to keep officers off the street and out of the station while a investigation is being done. Even then it isn't free vacation - they have to stay on standby, can't drink, can't really do anything but be ready to be called in for a interview.
In this case an investigation is being concluded and charges are being filed based on the investigation.

Well its the state abbreviation so... I do I guess.
Wow, they actually got something more than paid leave. I'm impressed.
Yeah i'm sure the media will turn it into something else. "If these officers were white they wouldn't have been charged".
Who colloquially refers to Louisiana as LA
I refer to my home state as PA when I don't feel like typing out Pennsylvania, what's so weird about doing the same with Louisiana? Aside from the fact that everybody thinks of Los Angeles unless there's proper context.
wish there was more to the story other than "they shot the car and killed a child!!!"
honestly i wish i could just see the bodycam footage for myself (although from the article it seems the footage was used as evidence in the case, so it must've been pretty obvious)
