Any tips on how to keep very clean while in the process?
-
What can I use as an alternative to using a pressure cooker?
such as cleaning methods, since I would of thought using a pressure cooker is only to sterilise the cake jars
-
Any tips on dunking and rolling?
-
Any tips on the whole procedure from creating the cake to harvesting and drying?
-heat the needle tip before incubating
-use a glove box
-use lysol/rubbing alcohol/other disinfectant
-only do your work on a clean, neat workspace
-wear latex gloves
-wash your hands
what kind of tek are you going to use to grow?
good luck, you'll need it

I'm using one of these, with perlite as the base
http://www.stacksandstacks.com/images/product/1223415168-362.jpg
with brown rice flour and vermiculite as a substrait.
I've gotten hold of some amazonian cubensis spores
I have no tapered jars but using tapered glasses with tin foil over the top..
I have some spores for this but they've been in the fridge so long they're probably fucked over by now. Anybody know if they will still be okay? It's been about 6 months.

remember to put about a half-inch layer of vermiculite.
do you know how to set the terrarium up?
you need two of those boxes, a aquarium heater, temp/humidity reader.

they may still be good, i know somebody who used spores that were about a few months old, and things turned out okay. you never know until you try.

Dont you mean perlite?
Why do I need 2 of those boxes?
You could grow truffles to avoid the fruiting process.
piss on plant, help plant grow
my penis is a shape of a mushroom :DD
If you don't have access to a pressure cooker you can always buy pre-sterilized substrate jars or bags, but they're quite expensive for what they are. brianosaur explained everything to keep clean, and when you're dunking keep it submerged in water for about a day.

I've used spores that were over 2 months old before which weren't kept in the fridge and worked but I've never used any that old so I'd have no idea

Interesting! Easier to grow?
Dont you mean perlite?

no, in the canning jars. you fill up your jars with your substrate, but then leave like a half-inch layer of only vermiculite. it helps keep contams out of your substrate.
you need 2 boxes because you fill one up with water (not ALL THE WAY FULL, just a little bit to heat the other box), then put your aquarium heater in there, and set it to ~75-80 degrees. stack your other box in there and layer the bottom with perlite. then you put your brf cakes in there (on top of a peice of tin foil). mist the box with water, and the rest is easy. fan your box a few times a day, and wait for your magical reward to grow! :D

Yeah.Check this guide http://www.shroomery.org/8420/Psilocybe-mexicana-amp-P-tampanensis-sclerotia
fuk truffels they're way less potent. if you are going to grow shrooms with syringes u should grow the hawaiian, most potent of em all.
i thought that when mother was FUCK
i thought that when mother was FUCK
huh?

Not really, they are 2/3 potency of cubes, and the fact that you can grow shitload just by having inocculated jars under bed makes up for it.

they are all technically cubes, one batch can be less/more potent than another. it varies on a lot of different factors; however, there is actually a table that somewhat represents how the factors play a role, but it's mostly for shroom hunters. if you do a lot of experimenting with mycology you can find the exact type of habitat that is needed to be replicated to get the best results.
EDIT:
this is the table:
Temperature = Potency
Humidity = Quantity
Weather = Condition
Field = Quality

That's really helpful dude. Do you know where I could find this table? (I'll probably find it after posting this though..)

i added it in the post.
This is a really interesting read, I may try it when I'm in uni.
OP if you need help you can PM me or look on www.shroomery.org (they are really helpful)
You can always buy these grow bag things, they're pre sterilized. All you do is inject the spores and let them grow.
i buy growboxes, add some water, let it stand for 24 hours, trow water out, put it in the plastic bag given with the growkit and u have fresh shroomies in 4 weeks
