I don't even understand why weed is illegal. It's pretty much totally safe. The only real threat to your health is if you smoke it, and that's the smoke not the weed itself.

Well, what's usually done with weed? It's smoked.
Same thing with tobacco, the plant itself isn't harmful, smoking it is.
Also the same thing with alcohol, the substance itself isn't harmful, but drinking it is.

That argument is rubbish any way you look at it because the damage from smoking marijuana goes away after a few months of not smoking/being careful with your lungs.
And even though anecdotal evidence is pretty shit, my step-father has been smoking weed for 30+ years, and can do 1000 reps jumping rope [I]every morning[/I].

The only reason Marijuana is illegal currently is, Due to the mexican drug cartels , Those small little wars in south america [Cocaine funded included] If this was to stop i do see a chance of it becoming legal in the U.S.
