• Top Romney Adviser Says Romney Can Change His Positions After The Primaries: ‘It’s Almost Like An Et
Mitt Romney can’t be held accountable for his extreme right-wing views, at least according to his campaign’s senior adviser, who said the candidate should be given a “reset button” on any positions he’s taken during the primary campaign if he wins the nominations and faces off against President Obama in the fall. Appearing on CNN this morning, Romney Communications Director Eric Fehrnstrom was asked if he’s concerned that Romney may alienate general election voters with some of the hard-right positions he’s taken during the primary to appeal to conservatives. Fehrnstrom brushed this concern off: HOST: Is there a concern that Santorum and Gingrich might force the governor to tack so far to the right it would hurt him with moderate voters in the general election? FEHRNSTROM: Well, I think you hit a reset button for the fall campaign. Everything changes. It’s almost like an Etch A Sketch. You can kind of shake it up and restart all of over again. Polls show Romney has lost support among independent voters as the primary campaign has forced him further to the right. It’s unclear if Fehrnstrom expects people to just forget some of the fairly radical stances Romney has taken on everything from immigration, to contraception, to climate change, or if he expects the candidate to change his positions on those issues in the coming months — something Romney is certainly known for doing. As Fox commentator Brit Hume said of Romney last year, “You are only allowed a certain number of flips before people doubt your character.”
Source
I hate politics.
Wow. 'Yeah guys, all those promises? Just gimme a reset button because they could or could not actually be true'

Is anybody really surprised? Candidates flip all the time and take whichever position gains them the most votes. Honestly, I'd look more at what the candidate did in the past, in this case Romney's time as governor, than what they say they will do.
If I was forced to choose a Republican to become President, it would definitely be Romney because of his moderate views. He is successful with these current views though I don't see why he would want to change them.
Romney's a good economist that's all that really matters yo. Even if he wants to do bum-ass shit like criminalize medical marijuana he won't actually be able to do it.
I don't know where to turn. My parents voted for Santorum.
I don't know where to turn. My parents voted for Santorum.
Run. Run far away.
Romney was actually pretty okay before he flip-flopped in 2008 to try and grab the nomination. Maybe he'll flip back to the moderate conservative he was as Governor.
Rick Santorum's response:
I really do not like Santorum's policies, but he is pretty good at talking without a teleprompter, and he is good at looking like the better Republican candidate when he clearly is not.
A politician saying one thing to get elected, and then doing the opposite once elected? No way.
"It's almost being like a lying politician... ... wait... yeah, that's it."
I really do not like Santorum's policies, but he is pretty good at talking without a teleprompter, and he is good at looking like the better Republican candidate when he clearly is not.
I really don't see anything wrong with using a teleprompter. Some people just have a hard time remembering every little detail of what they need to say.

Santorum is a crude pastische of conservative ideals. The same way the mr.potato head toy is a crude pastiche of the human face
HE LIED ABOUT THE GRITS? BASTARD!
I really don't see anything wrong with using a teleprompter. Some people just have a hard time remembering every little detail of what they need to say.
I just think it is a nice skill to have, and it definitely resonates with conservative voters who hate "snobs".
A politician saying one thing to get elected, and then doing the opposite once elected? No way.
Hell, it's worse than that, actually. It's a politician saying one thing to get nominated, and then saying the opposite to get elected. It's during his same damn campaign. At least with not following up on campaign promises once elected has the excuse of "bigger issues came up", "I was busy with a few of them", "I don't hold as much power as you people think", as well as just doing it for votes. But this is "Hey, remember my campaign speech yesterday? Forget everything I said". It's suddenly changing your own campaign during the campaign, where there AREN'T any excuses, especially if your own campaign manager says you'll flip-flopping in the future. It's no longer "I changed my mind", but blatantly lying for votes. He's outright saying "I'm lying to you about my goals right now." Romney just lost all of my trust. Well, I mean, I didn't trust him at all at first, so now I have negative trust in him.
Mitt Romney is like a barbie doll. Betrays no emotions and nobody likes him.
Reducing 0 by 100% still leaves you with 0.
Maybe I've been paying too much attention to Republican candidates lately, then. Their 'logic' must be rubbing off on me.
Newt Gingrich is an old worn out cabbage patch kid. It weirded you out when it was new and you don't know why anyone brought it out again.
Ron Paul is a banana that you thought you ran over 30 years ago but keeps coming back to watch you while you sleep from the bedroom window
To me Romney is a generic politician. I feel like if there's going to be a republican in office it might as well be him rather than the other two. I don't feel like he would be able to get much done, for better or for worse.

Perfect. I think I will add this to any argument I get into concerning Ron Paul

That picture smells terrible.

I didn't think that's how deeply held political beliefs worked...
