I never knew he also did retrospectives on books, time to look at his previous series.
I read some of the Oz series of books. They were pretty disturbing at some points. They always referred to any form of flesh as "meat", they had some pretty weird creatures, and nothing can die. This means that the tin woodsman's parts that got chopped off? They're still living. Actually, the Tinsman who made the tin woodsman's new body, and also had the parts of another man he made a tin body for, just made a whole new person, gluing a mishmash of parts with "meat glue". Weird stuff.
I remember my father reading these to me and my siblings. I don't remember the stories though. But still, good memories.
