Try listening to stereo versions of beatles tracks with headphones. It's fucking awful, vocal and guitar tracks on one side, drums and bass on the other. A bit of a mess, and I'm a bit of a Beatles fan.
Try listening to porcupine tree. They've remastered a bunch of their albums into 5.1 surround. Steven Wilson is a musical genius and is especially good to listen to on LSD.
